So, I actually have mixed feelings about Dark Room.  Let's start off with the characters.

I really liked both main characters Parker and Mia.  I admired that Mia was brave enough to go for it with the club, and that she knew what she wanted to do with her life but set aside her dreams to help her brother.  As for Parker, he's wonderfully alpha-strong and sexy, self-assured, loyal to his friends-the classic leading man.  And I'm always a fan of the best friend's sister/brother's best friend matchup.

The concept of Society X is intriguing and has me wondering if I could find something like that in my town...or it would have me wondering if I wasn't already married.  Especially fascinating is the dark room itself, the idea of the sensual overload is totally captivating and just the though of that room is enough to stimulate your imagination.

My reservations come with the pace of the story-at times it felt rushed, even when it came to the scenes in the dark room.  I guess due to the nature of the room, it just seemed like those scenes should have been a bit more drawn out and more of a tease for the senses...but instead to me it felt like they went pretty quickly.  It also felt like the overall writing was not as polished as I would expect from these authors based on their individual books that I have read previously.

But overall, it's an interesting story, and my curiosity is piqued for more books in this world.  In particular for Andrew (Mia's brother/Parker's best friend), I'd definitely be on board for his story.  Dark Room was a 3.5-star read for me, and fans of the more sensual contemporary romances will want to pick this one up.  Recommended for 18+ only due to adult language and sexual content.
