Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: Coming 2020
Cover Design: Reese Dante Book Cover Art & Design

Forever, the continuation of the number 1 bestselling novel, Always is coming soon.

Dr. Robert Adams grew up with more advantages than most—the son of a former vice president, he had two loving fathers, a twin sister he adores and wonderfully doting grandparents. Life is good until one afternoon when his dreams flat-line. And no scalpel can repair the guilt and grief he carries with him for the first time in his life.

For Tech Sergeant Landon Russo, determination isn’t just a word, it’s a way of life. Joining the US Air Force allows him to prove his worth, and he takes the values of integrity, service and excellence to heart in every decision he makes. Until on one fateful night, in celebration of a much-deserved promotion, a simple misstep sends his life flying into a tailspin.

As both men fight to regain control of their lives, they’ll soon discover fate rules. Will they ignore the signs and risk everything or will they take a chance and trust they're destined to be together...forever?

July, 2013 Landstuhl, Germany

“Damn, Doc! You machine. You’ve gotta be exhausted?”

Robert Adams glanced from reading the chart in his hand to the tall blond nurse who had come to a stop beside him. He’d met the guy weeks ago and had seen him around the hospital dozens of times since. Robert winced internally. If he hadn’t become such a self-absorbed ass and been the better person he was raised to be, he’d have made it a point to remember the man’s name. This was just another reminder of how he hadn’t even tried to fit in socially with the hospital staff.

If he’d learned anything from the past eight or so months, self-beratement didn’t help adjust his rotten attitude. Robert had given up on any hope of absolution and had let this funky, f*cked-up mood consume his entire life.

Yet another thing his fathers would be disappointed in him for. Why couldn’t he just try to be friendlier? The idea seemed almost impossible to achieve. With a heavy internal sigh, he gave up on the guy’s name and remembered that the nurse was always around the hospital too.

“I think that’s preaching to the choir.” For the past month, Robert had been placed on duty at the Landstuhl Regional Military Hospital in Germany. From the janitorial staff all the way to the top brass, the whole team seemed to have great respect for one another. They were solid professionals who genuinely got along well with one another and they had had no problem welcoming Robert—a civilian—into their circle with open arms. He’d been the one to purposefully keep his distance.

Another point in the hospital staff’s favor was that not one person had referenced either one of his fathers. They offered no awkward condolences on their untimely deaths. There was no talk of his dad, Avery Adams, being a great patriot to their country or the loss of his other father, his daddy, Kane Adams, so quickly after Avery’s death. Robert didn’t have to listen to all the ridiculous theories of soul mates—a perfect love intertwined with a connection so deep that death couldn’t break his fathers’ bond. Here at LRMC, Robert just got to be a man immersing himself in work.

The scalpel hadn’t felt right in his hand for a good while now. He’d come to LRMC in merely a support capacity role. He took every shift offered in order to keep his plate so full, there wasn’t time to dwell on what had happened in his personal life. Especially his responsibility in his beloved daddy’s sudden decline and ultimate death. Pain lanced across his heart so sharply it forced the air from his lungs as the weight of what he’d done sat heavily on his chest. And just like that, the overwhelming feeling returned, threatening to force the air from his lungs and drag him under.

He’d heard time eased loss, and perhaps it might, but he doubted the guilt would ever fade. If he’d done things differently, he wouldn’t be here in Germany chasing mystical signs, searching for anything to give purpose to this pain. The heavy weight of guilt. A f*cking bottomless pit of quicksand filled with deep sorrow, regret, and disappointment in himself that had him sinking deeper every time he tried to break free. Robert let go of the breath he’d been holding and scrubbed a hand down the length of his face.

“You okay, buddy?” the nurse asked, hijacking his pity party.

Robert glanced over, surprised to see the man still standing beside him. Apparently, this depression he fought robbed him of any reasonable thought. When the pain took over, it stole everything. How could he move forward when his head and heart couldn’t get past how badly he’d handled things?

“Yeah, I’m fine, just a little tired. I’m doing rounds then heading out.” Forcing a grin, Robert tried for upbeat, hoping to hide the pain silently drowning him. And it seemed to work. The nurse gave an easy nod, accepting his answer.

“I’m on duty tonight. Let me know what you need.” The guy squeezed his shoulder then gave him a reassuring pat on the back before leaving Robert standing there alone.

“Right,” he muttered and forced himself back to the patient chart in his hand, refusing to wallow in the murky pit of guilt and regret that the conversation had stirred. He stared at the notes, not remembering a single thing he’d read from just moments ago. He had to do better. He had too.

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

Blurb

Leo Byrne is a cop, Jason Banks is an ex-con. Even after one stolen kiss, something has to give before Leo can convince Jason that falling in love is even an option.

Adopted at a young age, Leo is part of the sprawling Byrnes family. With his dog Cap, three siblings and a whole mess of nieces and nephews, he is never lonely, and his life is full. Love is the last item on his to-do list, but seeing his best friends Sean and Eric happy and making new families makes him want things he doesn’t think is possible. Kissing Jason at an event to honor his bravery was one thing, but anything other than that is off limits. Until Jason has no one left to turn to, and it’s Leo who helps him at his lowest. Taking Jason and his daughter into his home is one thing, but falling for the ex-con is something else altogether.

Jason made a deal to keep his daughter safe and spent years behind bars as a result. Volunteering as a convict firefighter was as much about helping the community as saving his sanity, but now that he’s out, he doesn’t even have that. He’s lost his future, his self-respect, and has no friends or a place to call home. Worst of all, even after rescuing his daughter he still can’t keep her safe from the man who wants to use her as a bargaining chip for money. Meeting Leo might give Jason a way to keep Daisy safe, but falling for the stubborn cop means the truth has to be revealed, and he could lose everything all over again.

Carra's Review

From the moment Jason was introduced in Today, I already knew I wanted to know his story, and pairing him with Leo made this even more of a must-read.  After all, it’s cop plus ex-con, so there’s that built-in interest to see how that would work.  Well, with Jason and Leo it worked really well—complete with the requisite sweet moments thanks to Jason’s daughter Daisy.

That’s not to say there wasn’t any drama.  Jason’s situation is far from stable, and there are tense moments that keep a level of angst present through most of the story.  The close proximity, obvious attraction, and intense circumstances all contribute to a bit of an edge as you read.  Even when Daisy is involved, that doesn’t necessarily mean sweet and cute—there are still serious things going on to which even she is not immune.

Even given the attraction constantly simmering between the two men, things between them progress at a normal pace within the story.  If you’re expecting a lot of steamy page time, well that’s not what their tale is about.  This is more centered on the bond they form, and how Jason realizes it as it happens.

I will admit though that after the dramatic climax of the story, the quick jump to the epilogue was just a bit off for me.  While I did enjoy the wrap-up the epilogue provided with it’s look down the road time-wise for Leo and Jason, I would have rather had the events after that climax addressed as part of the main story.  Putting them as a look-back in the epilogue felt like too much like the author wanted to rush to the finish.

Even so, Promise was still a strong 4-star read for me, and really fits well into this series.  Now that our core three guys have their happy endings, I’m looking forward to moving on to other characters in this world since the series so far has been very satisfying.  Though there was not as much steam in this story, Promise is still meant for readers 18+ for adult language, some sexual content, and adult topics.

Synopsis

As the newest veterinarian in the small town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Vaughn Winters doesn't have time for relationships. He is too busy healing injuries and establishing his reputation as a trustworthy vet. But when a strange man waves him down one stormy night seeking help for his injured dog, Vaughn simply can't refuse.

Obviously homeless and with no means to pay for Roxy's medical care, Vaughn throws caution to the wind and strikes a deal with the hesitant stranger that would allow Roxy the time to heal and provide some much-needed TLC to his property as well. As the days pass, Vaughn's curiosity grows. Alex's dedication to the job is as surprising as the sexy tats hidden beneath his rugged clothes. What could have pushed this kind, hardworking man to the streets, or cast such dark shadows in his otherwise bright blue eyes?

Will six weeks be enough time to earn Alex's trust? Or will asking questions cause him to tuck tail and run as soon as Roxy is able?

***

Roxy's Recovery is a 61k standalone contemporary romance involving two men, a meddling sister, and a seriously sassy pug.

Excerpt

An hour later, we pulled up into the parking lot of Riverbend Reels. I knew the moment I walked into the place that I’d want to come back. There were aisles upon aisles of high-quality but affordably priced gear, all of it aimed at the enthusiastic fisherman.

“Wow,” Alex murmured, looking around.

“Yeahhhh,” I said, a little dreamily. “They sure know how to lure a guy in.”

Alex chuckled. “Careful, Doc. I might need to wipe drool off your chin.”

I smacked him in the chest and went down the first aisle, reaching out to touch a few of the nicer items on display. For the next two hours, Alex and I wandered nearly every inch of the store, and his teasing only got worse the more excited I became.

Slowly, his teasing morphed into what felt like genuine interest. He began asking me questions about the different kinds of reels and lures, and his eyes shone with excitement as he started to understand the significance of the weights listed on each package. It only made the experience that much more enjoyable for me, having someone there to share it with. And honestly, it was the most relaxed I’d seen Alex since… well, ever.

It wasn’t until I made Alex hold one of the lightweight carbon poles that something clicked into place, and he seemed to understand my appreciation. He turned it over and ran his fingers along the shaft, admiring it.

“Okay, yeah. I think I get it now. This rod feels better than the other one. I like the way it fits in my hand,” he said, noticing the grip.

I grinned, loving the way that innocent innuendo just seemed to roll off his tongue. “You like a nice rod in your hand, do you?”

Alex blushed and stammered for a change of subject. “I meant… It’s… The color is nice too.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “Has anyone ever told you how cute you are when you’re flustered?”

Carra's Review

Right from the start, almost everything about this story appealed to me. The setup/meet-cute, the characters, and the slow and easy way their relationship evolved. This wasn’t about some quick insta-lust thing or a “let’s have fun while it lasts” thing; it was about two men naturally learning about each other and getting to know one another in a relaxed way. At least until Roxy finally healed.

Vaughn may have a tendency to fall for a guy too quickly, but he also has a heart of gold and wants to help people—and animals of course. As for Alex, you know he’s not telling everything about himself or his circumstances, but as Vaughn sees right away Alex really is a good guy. Alex is a hard worker, and is fiercely protective of the one thing he really cares about—his dog Roxy.

I loved the evolution of their relationship, and thought the two of them were wonderfully sweet together. Frustration did enter the picture for me though with the way Alex acted once Roxy was all better. While I can understand and sympathize with his reasoning and motivations, it still drove me nuts…especially since I had really grown attached to his character and not just wanted but NEEDED him to find his permanent happiness.

When all was said and done, Roxy’s Recovery wound up with a solid 4 stars from me, and I would absolutely recommend this story to any contemporary M/M romance fan, and if you love animals then all the better. Since there’s some adult language, sexual content, and mentions of previous abuse this book is meant for readers 18+.

About the Author

I am an Idaho native who grew up dreaming about traveling the world and writing stories. As a child, I would often spend my spare time curled up with my favorite blanket and a notebook, writing another fairy tale. I never would have guessed those fairy tales would one day grow into gay romances, but that is where my heart led me and I am so glad it did. I write about love because I believe it can happen to anyone, with anyone. I also believe dreams never expire, redemption is possible, and true forgiveness can heal us in ways we never expect. I know firsthand how messy life can get, but as any artist will tell you, a little mess is needed to create something beautiful. You can often find me with a mug of coffee in one hand and a dog toy in the other. There is never a day that goes by without my sweet boy insisting on a game - or twenty - of fetch.

Blurb

When the world labels a man and judges them blindly, is it possible to ever find love?

Firefighter Eric is on the front line, battling the threat of nature’s destruction in the California grasslands alongside his CalFire team. Focused and calm, even in the direst of situations, he has a strong affection for his fire truck, loves his career, and has best friends he can rely on. All he needs now is love, but that seems to be impossible to find. At his friend’s wedding. Eric falls in lust at first sight with the shy, slim, and sexy Brady, even if Brady isn’t the type of guy he usually goes for. What Eric longs for is an equal in his bed, not a smaller guy who might want Eric to role-play big strong firefighter every time they have sex. He wants to find someone he can be vulnerable with, someone who will love him for his soft heart and quiet ways.

Brady’s life plans grind to a halt when his niece and nephew lose their parents in a tragic accident, and he becomes a dad overnight. His Developmental Coordination Disorder rules his life, but he fights both DCD and the fears that chase him every day, to give Maddie and Lucas a home. Agreeing to go to a friend’s wedding is a decision he regrets long before he even gets there. But, he refuses to give in to his fear, even if he might do something that makes him a target for people’s comments and laughter. Meeting Eric, a huge man with a gentle voice and a flair for chivalry, he falls hard. Now, if only he can let himself get past his panic that Eric would never want someone like him, then maybe he could fall in love for real.

Carra's Review

When I read the first book in this series, Single, I was drawn to Brady as soon as he was introduced so I was so happy that his story was up next.  I liked Today even more than Single—and that’s saying a lot since I rated that one pretty high.  Just like with Single, Today has children in the story (this time two who are 10 and 12), and again the author made sure that they did not overshadow the main characters.  Other characters from the first book make an appearance, particularly Ash, Sean, and Leo, all of whom are strong supporting characters this time around.

It’s easy to be drawn to Brady with his Developmental Coordination Disorder (and he’s not at a critical level…as his mother was fond of saying, “it could be worse”), and feel protective of him as a reader.  Eric understands, and not only that but he wants to know how he can help—not by trying to “fix” Brady (something Brady abhors and he avoids men who are like this), but by being there for him and providing support.  That in itself makes Eric amazing, but then add on Eric’s own issues having to deal with the stress of his job and the outcomes of the calls he goes out on…and now I just want to wrap both of them up—together of course—and protect and comfort them myself.

Eric supports Brady, and Brady does the same for Eric; they are both each others’ safe space to decompress and relax.  They fit together so well, and let’s not forget how insanely steamy they can be at every opportunity.  They work on both an emotional level as well as physical, and I love how strong and determined Brady is when it comes to facing his DCD head-on.

Today is getting 5 stars from me, and I’m also excited for the next book in the series, Promise, where we’ll get Leo and Jason’s story.  Jason’s character definitely sparked my interest after his appearance here!  Fans of single dad stories, contemporary romance stories in general, or if you’re just a fan of RJ Scott, you’ll want to get started on this series ASAP.  This book and series are for readers 18+ due to adult language and sexual content.

Once again Sean Crisden does a great job with the narration.  It’s easy to differentiate Brady and Eric, and voice inflections clearly communicate character emotions, particularly when it comes to Brady’s kids.  4.5 stars for the narration!
