Now he has to keep Kirby and the kids alive and stay professional.
Kirby Devlin has one priority; keeping his small family safe. On the run, and facing danger at every turn, Kirby finally runs out of places to hide on a snowy December day at an Edinburgh train station. Stefan comes to the rescue, saves him and the children. Is it possible that Kirby finally has someone to trust?
Now, if only it would be as easy for Kirby to trust Stefan with his heart.
"...Kirby was on the run with little Andy and Louise, having seen their father stabbed and left for dead. An unexpected attack at the train station left Kirby in a bloody mess and Stefan coming to the rescue. ... Love’s Design was a great addition to the Bodyguard, Inc. series, with a magical Christmas theme..."

“When I read an R.J. Scott book I never fail to get a quiver in my body and a smile on my face. Love’s Design lived up to my expectations.” ~Evelise at S.E.X. Reviews
I've been a fan of this series from the very first book, and after being introduced to Stefan's character in Undercover Lovers, I was intrigued to hear his story. To be honest, when reading that story for some reason I had pictured him as an older, rougher character than how he's portrayed here in Love's Design.
Individually, I really liked both Stefan and Kirby's characters. Especially Kirby, he's been through so much but has been trying to make a better life for himself...and now trying to protect his niece and nephew even though he really knows nothing about taking care of kids. He comes across as sweet and caring, and very protective of the children. Stefan does still come across as a bit rough around the edges, and while both he and Kirby bond well with the children, it took me reading through most of the book before I began to feel the connection between him and Kirby themselves.
There was a lot of action and suspense at the beginning, but that tapered off into more of a waiting game as the story went on. Regardless of this, I was still engrossed enough in the story to read through it in a single sitting. This story does feel much lighter with less drama than the previous ones in this series, but is still a really good addition and like the others gives us glimpses into the characters from the previous books that I really appreciated getting to see. I also really liked Kirby's niece and nephew, they were so attached to Kirby and eventually Stefan as well and added a sweet touch to the story.
While Love's Design was overall a bit less dramatic than the other stories in the series, it was still a very good 4-star read for me, and fans of the Bodyguards, Inc. series will definitely want to add it to their collections. Recommended for 18+ for adult language and M/M sexual content.
