Review, Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway: LIVE FOR LOVE by T.M. Smith

Join me in welcoming the latest book in the All Cocks Series, Live for Love.

Live for Love, An All Cocks story book 5
Beauregard Boudreaux is a native of New Orleans Louisiana, born and raised there, he never thought he would ever stray far from home. The untimely death of his first love left Beau lost, adrift, looking for a place as far away from the pain as possible. Initially, he came to New York to visit a friend, the city growing on him, so he decided to stay. His law degree comes in handy at the LGBT Center he runs, but his bar is his baby.

William Richards grew up in Chicago, his family oddly normal and very accepting of his sexuality. Modeling paid the bills, gigs across the country as a model, male entertainer and a personal trainer giving him the opportunity to see the world. He hasn’t experienced loss or pain as Beau has, the common denominator between them is the loneliness. As All Cocks big, brooding bottom Connor, William has found friendship, family and an outlet for his craving to be more submissive than men of his size and stature usually are.

The two men are perfect for each other, their tastes and lives align and the writing seems to be on the wall. But Beau has a secret he shares with a choice few, a secret that not only threatens to keep them apart, it’s deadly. Determined to keep a wall between himself and William, Beau fights the attraction, pushes William away every time he steps closer. Can one man’s determination and strength be enough to tear down a wall that holds back decades of pain and darkness? And if he can, will either of them survive the flood?

Disclaimer: This book is the fictional story of a man living with HIV. I have put a lot of time and effort into presenting this story as true to fact as possible, without going into gory or gruesome detail. If this subject is a trigger for you, you may want to skip this read. But my hope is that you give Beau a chance to capture your heart as he has mine, and William’s.

Exclusive Excerpt-Part 2!

Before Beau could formulate a witty comeback, there was a soft knock at the door. “Come on in,” Tristan called out. His secretary pushed the door open, bringing a tray with a carafe of coffee and two mugs. Setting everything on the coffee table next to Tristan’s discarded pad and pen, she excused herself and left them alone again, softly closing the door behind her.

Coffee in hand, Tristan steered the conversation in a different direction. Beau knew Tristan meant well, and he was probably right. The problem was that Beau had yet to find a man he could love enough to risk his heart again. His thoughts strayed to the night in the storage room at his bar with William—the one and only time he’d allowed himself to be swayed by his attraction to him. Goddamn, the man was a walking wet dream with his thick mane of jet black hair, bedroom eyes and a body that looked like it had been chiseled from granite. Too fucking sexy and vibrant to have his color dulled by Beau and the baggage he carried around.

“Beau, you okay?” Tristan asked. Beau blinked, nodding. “Where did you go just now? Is there something else you’d like to talk about today?” Tristan was prodding. The man was like a dog with a bone.

“Nah, just running through everything else I have to do today in my head,” Beau lied, praying Tristan would buy it. No such luck—his therapist leaned back in his chair, one eyebrow cocked, fingers tapping on the armrest.

Beau snickered. “Dere is dis guy…” Tristan grinned, leaning forward in his chair again, waving his hand for Beau to continue. “I tink you might know him, William, he works wit your men.”

Tristan was nodding his head. “He’s really close with Gabe so I’ve gotten to know him pretty well. He’s a great guy, Beau; I think you two would be kind of perfect for each other.”

“He deserves better dan dis, Tris.” Beau pointed at himself. “He…never mind.”

“No, say what you were going to say Beau; this is a safe place. Don’t think that because Gabe and Micah are friends with him, and me now by default that the rules here no longer apply. Nothing you share with me goes beyond us, beyond this room.” Tristan reassured him.

“It’s just, I haven’t let myself even look at someone dat way in so long. And den he blows into my life like a summer storm and I can’t stop tinking bout him. I tell him no after dat one and only kiss, but he’s stubborn dat one, already staked a claim.” Beau laughed.

“Whoa, wait, what kiss? When did this happen?”

Carra's Review

One of the things I like best about this series is how every story puts the relationships and emotions of the main characters first, front and center.  Yes, there are intimate scenes.  Yes, there is the backdrop of the gay porn industry.  And yes, there's an amazing cast of supporting characters.  But for me, the way TM Smith brings them together  and thoughtfully tells their stories is what keeps me addicted to this series.

Beau and William's story is the perfect example.  William exudes youthful charm and optimism, and is not afraid to go after who he wants.  Beau is reluctant given the secret he's keeping, even though William is really exactly what he wants and needs.  I love how William is able to slowly chip away at the walls Beau's built, and how Beau opens himself up to the idea of letting someone in again.

Their story is sweet, emotional and once it gets physical, explosively passionate (mmm...that first intimate about releasing pent-up desire...).  It pulls you in and lets you experience a whole spectrum of feelings and in the end will leave you satisfied, happy, and even more entrenched in the All Cocks family-which is a pretty fantastic place to be.  It also handles the serious topic of an HIV positive partner with the gravity it deserves, and shows how being educated and responsible is the key to making a relationship like this work.

I really liked William and Beau's story (and yes, I was reading Beau's parts with a Cajun accent in my head), and while it didn't knock Dare to Hope from my favorite spot, their story has its own special place in my heart simply for the love and passion the two of them share.

4.5 stars for Live for Love from me, and I recommend this for M/M romance fans 18+ for adult language and explicit M/M sexual content.  While this could be read as a standalone, I would strongly suggest that you read the first four books in the series before starting this one as they will give you a lot of really excellent back story for all of the characters and increase your enjoyment of Live for Love.
