Book Review: If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones

If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I won a copy of this book in a giveaway, and boy do I now feel like I'm one lucky lady! I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to get started on the rest of the series. The story is extremely well crafted with characters that have depth and an intriguing plot that totally draws you in. The beginning of the book starts off a little slow for me and had me thinking the book was going to be rather tame, but then really picks up steam and pulls you into its world with a bang (AKA the window scene). Then it keeps you in its grip all the way to the end...and leaves you wanting to just plow right on through to the next book without stopping.
Characters-I love love love Chris Merit. I want to keep him for myself! I can't wait to hear more of his backstory to get the complete picture of his character. Sara has the makings of a strong female lead, she just has some weakness when it comes to pleasing others. Mark is still a mystery; though some of his character's quirks are revealed by Chris toward the end, you know there's much more to his story (and I can't wait to find out). The only character I'm not sure of yet is Ella-we see so little of her at the very beginning, so right now I just get the feeling that she's impulsive.
Once you get into the meat of the story, there's a lot of steamy, intense sex scenes along with a lot of emotion. It keeps you engaged and by the time you reach the end, you'll be wanting more. Please realize this book is not a standalone, it is part of a series so there is a cliffhanger at the end-and it's one that will have you clicking away to get the next book.

I do highly recommend this one...and now if you'll excuse me, I have some one-clicking to do for the rest of the series.
