BLURB

Holden Bancroft was born with a better than average brain and not much else. Often described as strange and sickly, his attempts to conform only made him look foolish and a life-long diet of pills hasn’t provided a cure. Deciding to strengthen the only tool in his arsenal was liberating and learning became his greatest joy. But each episode is another reminder that his time is limited, and Holden intends to use everything he’s learned to help the small town of Hope before he dies.

Alpha Crowley Lomond, Zenith of the Americas, isn’t exactly happy with his ascension. Leading isn’t the problem, it’s acting like he’s somehow better than every other shifter that chafes. But while living and working beside them may seem noble, Crowley is more than just an alpha. As Zenith, he’s their example, their teacher and guide, and the one they will turn to when their way of life is threatened.

Meeting changes them in ways they never could have predicted and unveils a web of deceit that began long before they were born. Together, they will have to unravel the lies and reconcile the consequences if they are to protect the shifter way of life. Along the way, Crowley will become the Zenith his Kindred was born to love and their enemies will learn that there's nothing more dangerous than fated mates.

EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT
He was probably going to lose his job, but Abigail was proud, and Holden was too. Kind of. He’d feel better if and when he actually accomplished something. “Holden?”

The soft tone warned that she was done pretending and ready to nudge him out of hiding. Grateful and terrified, he gripped the wheel until it creaked and managed to squeak out an unconvincing, “Yeah?”

“You didn’t call to tell me about your job, did you?”

“No.” He called because he found himself humming. Music on low, breeze wafting through the open driver’s window, he was feeling really good. Mellow, which was so not his speed. But mellow fit. Kind of chill and relaxed, not sleepy, just really content. Was happy a stretch? It was insane. None of that was him. He was the freak out kind. Not the humming, happy, chill kind.

“I met a guy.” The words were rushed, and he was flinching seconds before her happy sigh echoed through the speakers. They didn’t talk about their sex lives, so he knew she would read more into this than there was. It wasn’t like he met his future husband or anything. He’d had a one-night stand—an ah-mazing one-night stand—with zero plans for a repeat and no way to contact Crow even if he wanted to.

Did he want to? Holden was a big believer in not pushing his luck and in this case, maybe it was better to hold onto the fantasy rather than risk realizing he’d blown the whole thing out of proportion. When Crow reached for him, he was at an all-time low. The only way it could have been worse is if he had passed out and gotten trampled by the dinner rush.

By that logic, any little improvement would feel huge. Although, that didn’t explain their morning after. When they woke, he was well rested, his body didn’t ache, and his brain was firing on all cylinders.

At least until Crow blew them all away.

“Don’t you even think about stopping there,” she warned when he didn’t say anything else.

“No, I won’t. It’s…he’s…Abs, fuck, he was amazing.” Holden laughed helplessly and blurted it all out. The traffic, the endless detours, letting his body run out, and Crow.

Crow in the restaurant.

Kissing Crow in the hallway outside his door.

Crow making everything better.

“We were together twelve hours. At least eight of them sleeping. What is that in the grand scheme of things? Nothing. Right? But…Abs, I think he changed something inside me.” Struggling to explain it, all Holden could think of to say was, “I was humming.”

AUTHOR BIO
Like many readers, I've dreamed of being a writer most of my life. Thanks to social media, I was able to follow my favorite authors and hoped to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. It isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely been worth it and with four series in the works and a full schedule of releases planned for the next two years, it's been amazing to have made this dream my reality.

I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics, and happily ever after. I'm a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families—biological or chosen. All are themes you'll find throughout my books.
