“Why are you here?” she asked, searching their faces for any clue. “Did something happen?”
Connor swallowed, his tongue darting out, leaving a glistening path over his bottom lip as he took her in. “You could say that.” He propped his hands on his hips.
He knows. Regret sluiced over her like a bucket of ice. “Connor, I’m sorry,” she rushed to explain. “It’s not Carson’s fault. I kissed him—”
“It’s okay,” Connor said. He crossed the space between them and stood in front of her, his hands cupping her face. She held her breath as he leaned down and pressed his lips to hers, his mouth moving in a sensual tease that started her pulse to racing again. “I want to see him kiss you again.”
She opened her eyes and found him staring down at her, nose to nose, his lips still so close they tickled hers as he smiled. “I—you do?”
Connor nodded, the tip of his nose brushing against hers. He tilted his head, and leaned closer to her ear, the movement revealing Carson’s position behind him. His eyes were dark, swirling with the same desire she’d seen earlier that evening. “I want that very much,” Connor whispered in her ear, the seductive hum of his voice sending delicious shivers racing along her arms.
Connor sucked her earlobe between his teeth and lightning jolted her from his hypnotic spell. She turned away and shook her head, her eyes blinking away the sensual images his words conjured.
“Car doesn’t want this.” She raised her hand to clasp her towel and… she looked down. She was still only wearing a towel! “Oh God.” She turned in a rush for the bathroom.
“Wait,” Carson stepped around Connor and snagged her wrist.
“I have to get dressed.”
“No you don’t,” Carson said, stepping around her and heading off her retreat. “Please don’t.”
She tried to step around him, but he moved with her, his large frame blocking her. All she could see and smell was him, a spicy concoction of male and muscle. “You said—”
“I take it all back.” Carson hooked his finger under her chin and tipped her head back. She raised her eyes to meet his gaze and her heart leapt. His eyes glistened with remorse as he lowered his head and placed a gentle kiss to her lips. “I was a fool, Breezy. I regret every damn horrible thing I’ve said to you, but if you never believe anything else, believe that I want this. I want you, with every cell in my body.”
Connor slid his arms around her waist, his naked chest pressing against her back. The heat of their bodies surrounded her, blanketed her in a sensual cloud. “I want this, Breezy. We both want you,” Connor whispered, his lips grazing the outer shell of her ear. His hand slipped between the overlapped edges of her towel, his fingers skimming along the first bit of her skin he could touch, teasing her with the promise of more. “Please tell us you want this, too.”
My Review
When I first started this series, it was not the first time I'd read a menage story, but it was the first time I'd read one where the participants were related-let alone brothers. I was actually pretty surprised and pleased to find out that this wasn't just a kinked-up device to change up a story in the menage arena, but the author actually writes a fantastic story...and the lead characters just so happen to be brothers (which of course lends another dimension to the plot, one that is handled quite well).
After thoroughly enjoying the first book in this series, my interest was piqued for more in this family saga. I'm happy to report that Rock Star Cowboys delivers the same solid writing with an intriguing plot that has some interesting twists-along with some scorchingly hot intimate scenes that will leave you breathless.
After reading Heart of Falcon Ridge, I had an inkling that Carson would be the more feisty of the twins, and he sure shows his troublemaking, difficult side here in Rock Star Cowboys. Connor is the perfect complementary balance for him, meaning that together they make up the perfect man--so for me it only makes sense that they would both end up with one woman between them.
Breezy is a pretty great female lead. After everything she's been through in her life, she is now a strong, determined young woman-if still a bit unsure when it comes to her teen crushes, Connor and Carson. But Carson brings out her own feisty side, and Connor her softer side...and when you put the three of them together, they just make sense.
But getting to that point makes for a bumpy ride filled with drama, and regardless of a reader's view on polyandry, the story itself is well thought out and written. I found it quite interesting and enjoyable, made even more so with the wonderful supporting character cast of the McLendon family. There's also a side plot featuring Carson and Connor's brother Jonah which now has me desperately hoping that his story will be added to the series.
Again getting more than I expected in an unconventional relationship story-in a good way-Rock Star Cowboys was a very solid 4 star read for me, and I can't wait to see what comes next in the series. Recommended only for 18+ fans of menage romance due to adult language and explicit M/F/M menage and M/F sexual content.

What genre books do you write?
Currently I write erotic romance and romantic suspense. My 2016-17 plans include branching out into contemporary, sci-fi-fantasy, paranormal and dystopian romances. I’ve got a myriad of voices chatting it up in my head and they’re all demanding their HEA. Ha-ha!
What made you want to write ménage romance?
I love the fantasy most of all, but I am particularly drawn to the family dynamics of such a relationship. All of my book center around real-life struggles and triumphs, but my ménage romances in particular are family centric. While MFM and similar poly tropes can be scorching hot for obvious reasons (fans self), I love being able to explore the real-life hurdles and blessings that are inevitable in that unconventional type of love.
How did The McLendon Family Saga begin? How did you come up with this series idea?
Omigosh! That’s a funny story. I was actually sitting in a long traffic jam on my way to work trying not to flip out because I was running late. With a groan, I closed my eyes (not sure if that’s smart in a traffic jam) and cleared my thoughts of all things Monday Morning when Matt McLendon’s voice popped into my head.
“Pssst! Hey!” he called to me from the other end of a long hallway that reminded me of a school with its linoleum floors and doorways. “Come here.”
He crooked his finger, motioning for me to hurry up, and I walked to the open doorway by which he stood. I mean, a tall, blond cowboy with playful eyes and dimples? Of course I was going to come (take or leave the pun, LOL). When I reached his side, he looked into classroom and nodded his head at the pretty teacher inside the classroom.
“You have to fix me up with her,” he whispered.
When I looked up and saw the completely twitterpated stars in his playful eyes, I knew I was a gonner. I had to write his story. Little did I know he had a twin, a gorgeous, brooding older brother and twin sons. Four books later and I’m still in love with them all!
What is your favorite scene in Rock Star Cowboys?
Wow, that’s easy. I actually have two. The first would have to be the scene in the barn when Matt, Mason and Grey are having the talk with Connor and Carson about dating the same girl. OMG I could feel Con and Car’s embarrassment and Grey’s struggle to find the right words. I laugh every time I read that scene.
The second would be the drone scene. It’s not only the first time Breezy and Connor kiss (fans self again), but I love the real-world technological advances. Drones are more than popular for all sorts of things now and I’m ready to see modern romance catch up.
Do you ever have…um…issues writing those sexy scenes?
Ha! You remind me of Grey in the barn! I have to admit that it can be difficult at times. It’s one of the best things about writing a ménage, though. Soooo many more um….positions and possibilities than M/f romance. Surviving Redemption was my first romantic suspense with just one guy and gal, and let me tell you! I was desperate for another pair of hands in their first love scene. It was weird! Overall, though, it’s not as…eh-ehm…hard…as it might seem when you’re ‘in the moment’ with the characters. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.
Your plots tend to be on the complex side, with lots of characters and action (both in and out of bed). Do you outline your books before you write them, or do you let the characters run the show?
I’m a total panster. Every single time I try to outline a plot my characters riot, so I don’t even try anymore. And just when I think I have the story figured out, nope. I end up in left field chasing a fast ball. I think a lot of the plot-changes (for me) come from getting to know my characters better along the way. They change, just like real people, and sometimes you can’t predict those changes.
Where do you get your ideas?
Real life. They always start with real-life current events, but keeping them there are darn near impossible. It’s a writer brain thing, I think. My husband once said he’d love to live inside my brain for a day. I promptly advised him of what a bad idea that was. He wouldn’t last ten minutes. It’s a mess up there!
What are you working on right now?
I have several irons in the fire, but I believe my most pressing voices are those of my dystopian. Post-apocalyptic epic of all things! I have a plot, and of course the characters who won’t shut up, but world-building is hard and completely new to me. I’d like to get a strong-boned first draft done before I move on to other projects. I do have books 5-6 planned for the McLendon Family Saga for this year as well. Wow, looking at this, I need to get busy writing! Ha-ha!
