Dare to Love Book 6

Blurb:

A one-night stand.
A secret.
A mistake they tried to forget.

On leave from the army, Tyler Dare is just looking for a little fun, but his best friend's sister is off limits. Yet unable to deny how sexy and alluring she is, he finds it all too easy to succumb to a night of passion and heat that ends the next morning in the worst way possible.

There are just some guys you don't touch--even someone as innocent and inexperienced as Ella Shaw knows that. But when her brother's best friend is up for grabs and willing, she can't resist. After all, she's wanted him for years…

Now, Ella is stranded on a tropical island with a hurricane bearing down, and only Tyler can save her. It's his chance to make amends for the past and show the woman he's never forgotten that he's coming after her . . . in more ways than one.

Carra's Review

Dare to Take is exactly what I expected from Carly Phillips and this series.  A hot alpha male character with insecurities, a sweet young woman with issues of her own from her past that keep her from finding her own solid relationship, and a bit of intrigue just to keep the reader on their toes.

I'd classify this is a second chance romance, even though the first time around was a one-time thing.  Ella and Tyler do have some great chemistry in the bedroom, though we really don't get to see a lot outside of it with them as a couple-mostly family drama and problems that started for Ella at the beginning of the book-for me to say yay or nay to whether they fit together in every aspect.  But regardless of that, the writing and the story kept me pulled in just like every other book in this series.

I loved seeing all the character from the previous books-it's always great to catch up with couples from the series.  I still don't care one single bit for the Dare children's father, and that feeling was cemented even more with his behavior here in Dare to Take.

With familiar characters and a comfortable storyline, Dare to Take was a 3.5-star read for me.  Fans of the series will want to scoop this one up, and if you're like me you'll find Tyler your favorite character in this story.  Recommended for contemporary romance fans 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

Fans adore him, women throw themselves at him, and he can afford everything he couldn’t growing up. Yet at the height of his career, he’s ready to walk away and return home to a simpler life… and the woman he left behind, if he can convince her to give him another chance.

Except moving on isn’t as easy as Grey would like. When Avery is threatened by a stalker, it becomes evident Grey’s fans not only don’t want him to retire, they don’t want Avery in his life either.
