My Review

I love a good anthology, especially when I get to read some of my favorite authors all in one place...and all brand new stories!  This is a nice collection of tales and gives the reader a great peek at what these authors have to offer:

Off Duty-Sawyer Bennett
This is a wonderful second chance romance, with the added twist of an interracial relationship.  But for Tim and Holly, that never even plays into what they feel for each other-not when they first were together in high school, and not now when they get their second chance...though the first time around it did play into what ripped them apart.  We get a terrific look at their reunion where they show that still-love is love.  4.5 stars

Rebound-Chelle Bliss
I've been a huge fan of this author's Men of Inked series right from the start, so when I found out that one of the supporting characters from that series would be getting his own story in this anthology, I was happy to be able to read more from this world.  Hot and sexy definitely describes everything between Sam and Fiona, but things also moved extremely fast between them-and I'm not usually fond of insta-love situations outside of a paranormal context.  Still a good read, 3.5 stars

Wanting to Forget-Toni Aleo
Though I have a bunch of Toni's books, this is the first chance I've had to read any of them.  The writing was great, and at first I liked Jordie's character, but the overall tone of the story and the absolute manwhore that Jordie is in it just weren't for me.  BUT-it does intrigue me for his whole story that's coming soon to see if he redeems himself.  3 stars

Closet Confession-Kindle Alexander
Every single thing I've read by Kindle I've absolutely loved, and Closet Confession is no exception.  Kindle has a way of writing M/M that gets you thoroughly invested in the characters, and the relationships show a depth of emotion that's not often seen even in M/F books.  This glimpse at Justin and Derek was fantastic-if a bit of a tease (MORE PLEASE!)-and of course hot!  Far and away my favorite story of the anthology, 5 stars

Healing Touch-Brenda Rothert
LOVED Joss and Carson.  The way they meet, the quick spark between them, how perfectly they seem to fit together...it all makes for a great, sexy read and leaves you wanting more of their story.  4.5 stars

Swimming in Shadows-Eden Butler
This was an interesting, well-written introduction to Eden's Shadows series.  Filled with some great storytelling and some hot and steamy scenes, it definitely piqued my interest for the series, and I can't wait to read more about Neil Ryan and the secrets he's trying to untangle.  4 stars

This is an overall 4 star read for me, and I would definitely recommend it for adult readers (18+ only).  Plenty of drama, plenty of steam, plus I loved that they were all situated in New Orleans with a common tying factor of Tulane Medical Center, it helped tie together the entire anthology.  #loveislove #1click4charity

Release Day-Excerpt and Giveaway: Fall With Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout

It's here!
We're so excited to bring you the Release Week Blitz for Jennifer L. Armentrout's, also known as J. Lynn's, FALL WITH ME!!  FALL WITH ME is a New Adult Contemporary Romance and is a part of her Wait For You Series, published by Avon Romance.  We love this series and can't wait to start reading Roxy and Reece's story!

FALL WITH ME Synopsis:

Eleven months ago, bartender and weird-shirt-wearing extraordinaire Roxy and Officer Reece Anders had a one night stand. Well, kind of. She’s been in love with him since she was fifteen, and he wishes that night they shared never happened. She’s sworn him off forever, but the past and future collide, forcing her to rely on the one man who broke her heart not once, but twice.

Her best friend since birth has been in a long-term care facility since he became a victim of a hate crime years ago, and the person who put him in there is out of prison and wanting to make amends with him and Roxy. She’s not sure she has room for forgiveness in her and when she begins to receive frightening messages and is on the receiving end of escalating violence, she thinks she knows who is to blame. The man who already destroyed one life already.

But Reece isn’t convinced. The threats are too personal, and even if Roxy doesn’t believe him, he’s not willing to let anyone hurt her. Including himself. He’s already messed up more than once when it comes to Roxy and he’s not going to let history repeat itself.

Excerpt:

Someone—was it Melvin?—catcalled as Reece led me down the hall, and my cheeks flushed. “Okay, heman, I can walk all by my little self.”

He cast a look over his shoulder at me as he opened the office door. “I’m sure you can.”

Then he pulled me inside.

My gaze flipped to the roses—the roses!—but before I could say a word, he closed the door and my back was pressed against it, his hands planted on either side of my head and his face right in mine. Like right there, within kissing distance.

Wow.

“So, I was at my father’s place in New Jersey most of the day, and you know, he lives out near the Pine Barrens, so service is sh*t.”

I nodded even though I really wasn’t processing what he was saying as I was too busy staring at his mouth. Those lips, fuller on the bottom, drove me to distraction.

“I pull out of his driveway and I have all these messages from Dennis,” he continued, and I finally caught on to what he was talking about. “I honestly thought he was messing with me at first.”

I cringed. “He . . . um, he wasn’t.”

He shot me a bland look. “That much I figured out.” His hands slid on the door, stopping just shy of touching my shoulders. “What did he do to you?”

“What?” I blinked.

“What did that bastard do to make you throw a book through his windshield?”

Oh. Oh. My heart was now wiggling along with my stomach. “He really didn’t do anything. I just lost my cool. He wanted to talk to me, and I didn’t want to talk to him.”

“You don’t have to talk to him.”

“That’s what Dennis said, but I shouldn’t have damaged his car.”

A muscle flexed along his right jaw. “That’s true.” He shook his head. “Damn, Roxy, can’t say I’m surprised.”

My brows flew up. “You’re not?”

He laughed under his breath. “Babe, you’ve always had a hell of a temper on you.”

Ah, that was kind of true. “Is that a good thing or a bad thing?”

Reece cocked his head to the side. “A sexy thing, but vandalism and destruction of property doesn’t look good on you, sweets.”

“No. It doesn’t match my manicure.” I raised my hands, flashing him the blue nails.

He laughed again and then he sobered up, just like that. Cop Face was on, and yeah . . . the low coiling in my stomach told me I found Cop Face arousing. “You’re lucky. He could’ve pressed charges, and this conversation would be going in a whole different direction.”

My own half smile slipped off my face. “I know. It’s . . . I was just with Charlie, and he’s . . .” Unable to continue, I forced a casual shrug I didn’t feel. “What are you going to do with me?”

His lips parted as his chest rose with a deep breath, then his gaze dropped to my mouth, and his expression tightened. He looked . . . he looked hungry. “I have lots of ideas.”

Goodreads:  https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24749118-be-my-baby-3

Excerpt:
F*ck it.
Maybe it was the alcohol clouding his thoughts, or the fact that he’d been dying to taste her since they were sixteen, but he kissed her. He kissed her like he was drowning and she was the only source of air available. He kissed her with all the madness, need, and desperation pounding through him like a marching band. And she moaned deliciously and melted into him. Her arms tightened and she staggered up onto her toes for more. Her breasts crushed into the plane of his chest, the nipples hard and prodding despite the layers of clothes between them. She tasted like champagne and the chocolate off the cake. His already over intoxicated brain went straight into the red zone, the point of no return.
“Stop!” He viciously pried his mouth off hers. “Stop or God help me, I’ll take you right here.”
Eyes a stormy blue of all the emotions roaring through him, she stared up at him with her cheeks flushed and her lips a wet, swollen mockery driving him to madness.
“I’m not easy,” she whispered, her voice a hoarse croak.
Jared wanted to laugh, but couldn’t find the sense. “Jesus, baby, there’s nothing easy about you.”

Holding Strong will have you holding your breath while burning fingers quickly turn the pages.”
“…a fun and sexy read. It has a touch of suspense to it as well to keep the pace of the story going along.”
“The men of Foster’s Ultimate series may be powerful fighters, but they are all heart, and none more so than the hero of this installment. His unwavering support for his feisty, frightened heroine redeems them both in time, but it is their searing chemistry that will hold readers’ attention.”
“Foster…manages to keep characters evolving throughout the course of a novel, becoming true ‘heroes’ by the time ‘The End’ rolls around.”

Gaze softening, her attention went all over his body.  “Seriously, Denver. Did you really want to argue right now?”

He searched her face. “No.” Hell no. Especially not with her looking at him like that. He moved in again, one hand on the wall by her shoulder. “Thing is, I’m not sure you want what I want.”

For the longest time, their gazes held while her breathing quickened and her cheeks warmed. Finally, in a whisper, she asked, “Do you want me?”

With one short nod, he pressed her to the wall, feeling her all along his length. “Have for a long time.”

“You hid it well.”

“Then I’m one hell of an actor.” He brushed his mouth over her forehead. “We have a lot of talking to do, but I’d as soon do it after.”

“After?”

“After I’ve had you. Maybe several times.”

She dipped her head down so that he stared at the crooked part in her fair hair. He brushed his nose against her, down to her temple, her ear.

Her hands clutched at him. “I got the feeling you didn’t like me.”

“I like you.” It was how her flirting made him feel that he didn’t like so much.

Pushing him back so she could see his face, she asked anxiously, “You won’t change your mind?”

The laugh tried to escape, but he wanted her too much to take a chance on pissing her off. “Where’s your room?”

“Close.” On a sharply inhaled breath, she stepped him back a few paces and darted around him in a rush. “Come on.”

At first he just watched her, her obvious urgency, the way her hair teased over her shoulders. She stopped halfway down the hall and fumbled in her purse before pulling out a key card. She opened the door, jammed the key card back into her purse, and glanced at him.

Ah, hell. Definitely close. In a few long strides Denver reached her.

Seconds later they were in her room.

A second after that he was kissing her.

Blog Tour-Review and Giveaway: Finding Fisher by Dakota Madison

New Adult Contemporary Romance
Date Published: March 2. 2015

Synopsis
Finding Fisher is a short novel about love, lies, loyalty and what it means to be truly alive.
Franklin Smith was the perfect fiancé. He was at the top of our class at Stanford and had been recently accepted to Harvard Law. But Spring Break our senior year of college changed everything. He went back home to New Jersey and never returned. At his funeral I discovered a guy I never knew. His secret past. And a twin brother, Fisher, I didn’t know existed.
Author’s Note: When I learned about the tragic death of cover model Josh Nicholson and saw the wonderful photos that Eric McKinney of 6:12 Photography had taken of Josh I just knew I had to write a book in his memory. This is the novel that Joshua Scott Nicholson inspired.

A portion of the profits from the cover and book sales will be donated to Joining Hearts, Inc., a 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing support to people living with HIV and AIDS in Atlanta, in memory of Josh.

My Review

I found Finding Fisher to be a quick and easy read.  The story moves extremely fast, and does have two main characters that fall for each other almost from the start.

I had a very difficult time trying to connect with Chloe, the main female character.  She's had everything handed to her by her parents, and even her friends think she has the perfect life.  When she finds out about her fiancé's death, the way she reacts is very low-key with hardly any emotion--very odd for someone you supposedly love enough to marry.  Fisher's character is down-to-earth, sweet and very likable, and he's my favorite from this book, though he doesn't really seem to show much emotion concerning his brother's death either.

The two of them fall for each other so fast, it just feels off-especially for Chloe, who you'd expect to be mourning her fiancé's passing.  If you're a fan of insta-love stories, then this will be totally up your alley as it fits that description perfectly.
