“Since I cannot move forward, the gentlemanly thing for you to do is to step back.”
“Why can’t you move forward?” His breath skimmed across her nape, teasing the tendrils that must have come loose earlier, when their carriage had hit the rut.
She shivered, closing her eyes. “I know very well that you do not care about my answer. All you are doing is delaying the removal of your hand from my . . .”
She’d said the word a moment ago. So why couldn’t she say it now? Likely, because that part of her body had suddenly become the center of her world. It was now a place of intimacy and forbidden touches.
“Waist?” he supplied, moving his fingertips in such a way that it made her stomach quiver—not on the surface but someplace deeper inside.
“Person,” she corrected, yet noticed her thready word lacked censure. She tried again. “You really should not be touching me here.”
“If I were assisting you into a barouche, I would have both my hands on your . . . person.”
Both of his hands on her? She tried not to imagine it. When she felt an enthralling warmth spread through her, she knew she’d failed. “No. I mean here, in the ballroom. If anyone should see, the result would be catastrophic for both of us.”
Her reputation would be ruined. He would be expected to marry her. They both knew, however, that he would not. His conduct indicated that he cared little for the principles of society. He didn’t even like her. And more important, she reminded herself, she despised him.
“Indeed. The rules that govern your actions must be obeyed.” With those hard-edged words, he dropped his hand and stepped back.
Lilah immediately missed his warmth and hated herself for it. She turned to face him, a reprimand at the ready. “If we didn’t have rules, then society would be full of men like you who enjoy taking liberties.”
He lifted his tawny brows. “You don’t think society would be full of women taking liberties?”
She blinked, caught off guard by the question and by the very idea. Women taking liberties?
Spinning a web to decide her fate . . .
It was an unexpectedly intriguing proposition for a woman in her circumstances. Now, however, was not the time to ponder it. “I will not imagine such a thing. After all, if I were to have placed my hand on your person, then you would have removed it. Men do not wait upon politeness.”
“I wouldn’t have removed your hand . . . from anywhere on my person.” He grinned, making her regret the example she’d used. Then he spread his arms out in invitation. “Please tell me you require proof.”

So a little bit about myself. I love to read, and create stories for others to enjoy. I've always been told I have a vivid imagination, I just lacked the confidence to pursue putting it onto the written page. But finally I embarked on making a single dream come true.
I love to read, and write. I only read romance, any in that genre really. But it has to have a beautiful happy ending, I know reality isn't like that, but I read to excape real life not re-live it. Reality is too broken and jaded without having to live through the trauma and angst in a book for it to end unhappily.
I live in Yorkshire, England with my family, and many pets. When I'm not writing I am a very busy mummy and wife. My family is my world, my purpose and I am proud to be a part of their lives.

Like a depressed moth drawn to a wild flame, Chris hoped that flame would brighten his life, not burn him alive.

Chris Sinclair fades into a grey world after losing his mother to cancer. When forced to attend a concert as a last attempt to coax him out of his shell, he discovers that life might not be as bleak as he first thought.

Dante Heron holds the audience between the tips of his fingers and the delicate bow, playing the violin as if every heart is his to command. However, something darker brews behind the façade, and Chris is determined to solve the enigma.

When Chris is offered the job of traveling around Europe with the famous violinist, he surprises himself by accepting. With no idea what awaits him, he's thrown into a world where emotions rule and rules are bent.

They're a perfectly dysfunctional match, but then there's always calm at the heart of the storm.

Carra's Review

Talk about your high-angst stories...Volatile is steeped in it, and the story actually had my stress levels pretty high through most of the book.  Between Dante's unpredictable moods and personality, the growing feelings Chris is experiencing, and the blossoming-and-then-not relationship between the two--it's enough to have you strung out almost the entire time you're reading it.

Chris comes across as slightly depressed and still unable to fully move past his mother's passing.  He's unsure of himself and wavers back and forth on how he should handle things with Dante.  I really felt for Chris, he seemed so lost for much of the story until he realized exactly what his feelings for Dante truly are.  Dante is a lot like what you'd expect from a temperamental, supremely talented musician.  He has his own difficulties thanks to his parents and the undue pressure they place upon him along with the added pressure of being in the spotlight as the prodigy he is.

There's a bit of a lack of communication between Chris and Dante, and that along with the high tension surrounding their relationship (whether professional, friends, or more) puts a lot of strain on them both.  It makes for a read that borders slightly on the darker end, but still with the spark of hope that things will eventually work out.  While reading this story did have me on edge through most of it, that certainly held my rapt attention and I didn't want to put it down at all.

Volatile was a tense but very satisfying 4.5-star read for me, and I recommend this for M/M romance fans who prefer a more angsty read.  I'm excited to read more in this series, especially the story of Chris' brother Ayden and his husband Callum, as well as Chris' roommate Adam's tale.  Looking forward to more from this very talented author in the future!

Author Bio

Raised in one of the cold corners of the world, Avylinn spends her days either wrapped up in a blanket or basking in the precious sunlight. When she can't choose herself, she's holed up in an office working with climate research that has little to do with the worlds and characters she creates in her vivid dreams.

Always the emotional one, she has found her outlet in writing, voicing thoughts, emotions and fears through her characters that feel very much alive to her. And, what began as a hobby soon took more and more time in her life until she realized that she had left her old life behind and entered a new one where her emotions turned into a super power-ready to launch at her poor readers.

She recharges with the help of coffee, cinnamon buns, popcorn and occasionally a healthier alternative.

The Case of the Dragon's Dilemma

Dragons, battles, a Siren attack and a deal Sam may come to regret leave Sam and Bob in danger...and result in Mikhail finding a mate.

Bob and Sam take their kind-of-adopted-now vampire daughter Mal to look at new schools. Mikhail is left to babysit the last of the remaining rescued children whilst they are away.

When Sirens appear to steal her away, he is left facing the attack alone until a mysterious hero comes to his aid. Ryujin, or Jin to his friends, is a dragon shifter and his role as Captain of the Dragon Guards puts him in direct conflict with Mikhail.

The minute he sees Mikhail he knows what he wants. Now if he can only get Mikhail to see the same.

The Case of the Sinful Santa

Zephariel, the Angel of Vengeance, Nick Klauson, nephew to Santa, Christmas magic, zombies in the school and a necromancer causing chaos...and at the centre of it all-Mal.

Zephariel is the Angel of Vengeance and is tracking down his cousin Danjal for misuse of brimstone. When he walks into a bar and finds Nick Klauson drowning his sorrows, he is instantly drawn to him. Could this be his fated mate?

When Nick and Zeph join forces to deal with zombies in Mal's school, sparks fly. Add in a demon, a wolf and a necromancer, and Sam and Bob have a hunt on their hands.

"...With stories that are written by more than one author, there are sometimes gaps in the flow of the writing. There are none here. The writing flows smoothly and seamlessly I wouldn't be able to tell you who wrote what. The world describe within the story was easily imagined as where the characters...."

Carra's Review

One of the things I like best about this series is the wide range of paranormals featured.  Where else can you find vampires, werewolves, ghosts, gargoyles, dragons, the Fae, angels, demons, sirens, and oh yes-the elves of Santa's family all in one series?  Heck, even in a single story?  It makes for some highly entertaining reading that makes you laugh along the way.

In The Case of the Dragon's Dilemma, we get to see Mikhail-a half vampire, half siren-get his chance at a mate when Jin comes along.  There's dark things afoot amongst the dragons, and Mikhail, Jin, Sam and Bob head out to figure out what's going on.  There's the usual witty banter between the characters, along with a bit of mystery and action as they work together to go after a necromancer who's trying to cause havoc.

Yes, there's a bit of insta-love going on with Mikhail and Jin, but for me it's perfectly acceptable in the guise of soul mates (one of my favorites in paranormal stories).  The two of them together are sexy and hot, but the intimate scenes don't take over the story--the mystery is always central in the End Street stories.

The necromancer story arc continues in The Case of the Sinful Santa.  Nick-Santa's nephew-is a bit down, and meets Zephariel while attempting to drown his sorrows at a bar.  The meeting between them sets off a spark, and we get another fated mate pair story set among zombies and the continuing necromancer problem.

For me, Nick and Zeph didn't have quite the connection that Mikhail and Jin did, but they did grow on me, especially when facing the angel court toward the end of the story and the scenes following that.

Both stories are fast-paced and quick reads.  I liked reading them together in the one volume since the two stories had the connecting element of the necromancer, which made it feel more like one big story.  And even though each story gives us a new couple to focus on, we still get Sam and Bob (along with Sam's ever-evolving non-humanness) and their constant love story as well.

This all makes for some fun stories with mystery, action, drama and of course love.  End Street Volume 2 was a 4.5-star read for me, and I would highly recommend this book and series to M/M paranormal romance fans, especially those who like a lot of different kinds of paranormals all interacting together in the same story.  This book is meant for readers 18+, mostly for the M/M sexual content.  I hope Amber Kell and RJ Scott are planning a lot more stories in the series, I'm really loving this crazy mix of creatures and the maybe-kinda-or-not-so-human Sam!

Author Bios

Amber Kell has made a career out of daydreaming. It has been a lifelong habit she practices diligently as shown by her complete lack of focus on anything not related to her fantasy world building.

When she told her husband what she wanted to do with her life, he told her to go have fun.

During those seconds she isn't writing, she remembers she has children who humor her with games of "what if" and let her drag them to foreign lands to gather inspiration. Her youngest confided in her that he wants to write because he longs for a website and an author name-two things apparently necessary to be a proper writer.

Despite her husband's insistence she doesn't drink enough to be a true literary genius, she continues to spin stories of people falling happily in love and staying that way.

She is thwarted during the day by a traffic jam of cats on the stairway and a puppy who insists on walks, but she bravely perseveres.
