The Elven King's Captive

Fated Elves, Book 1

An omega elven king finds his alpha. Unfortunately, he's human.

Casersis Ardal, the former Sun King, is a First Generation elf of over three million years. He meets his match in Dustin Juniper, a twenty-year-old human construction worker.

Dustin has been in charge of his whole life since he was sixteen. But when he meets Casersis, destiny strips all his control away. His body, his heart, his whole world change when he comes into contact with a magical amulet and starts changing species. And falling in love with an ageless elven king makes him question everything.

Casersis has been alone on earth for millennia. Having a burgeoning elf around brings feelings he isn't comfortable with. But he can't let Dustin go. If the humans find out Dustin isn’t human, Dustin would become a science experiment. The only option Casersis has is to keep Dustin captive. He must protect Dustin from himself as the young man fights Casersis—and fate—every step of the way.

If they want to be together, Casersis and Dustin must find a way to compromise. Once in a lifetime takes on new meaning when you live forever.

This 73,000-word non-shifter omegaverse novel is set in a world where mpreg (male pregnancy) is a fact of life, however this series does not end with a baby or pregnancy.

I snatched my hands out of my pockets, thrust them out before me to regain my balance. Tried to stop my forward momentum. Just as I thought I’d eat the limo driver’s elbow, and possibly the sidewalk, my palms met a well-muscled chest covered in the softest fabric I’d ever touched, and something cold and tingly pressed into the fingers of my right hand.

The man caught me by the biceps and gently righted me, as if I wasn’t street scum, as if I hadn’t just tried to plow the man down. He waited until I had my balance, and when I looked up into the man’s startling blue eyes, I gasped. My wits finally returned to me, and I nearly vomited the apology, “I’m so sorry! I wasn’t watching where I was going.”

The man narrowed his eyes as if he heard the lie in my voice. But he said, “It’s all right. I remained where I was so you wouldn’t sprawl straight onto the floor of my car.” His voice was as silky and deep as a calm ocean. It flowed over me and left a pleasant tingle in its wake. Concern and something else I couldn’t name shone in the man’s intense blue eyes. “Are you all right?”

I shivered, both from the autumn chill and from the smoky quality of the man’s sensual voice. My right hand started to burn, and I cradled it against my chest as I replied, “I don’t know how, but I think I burned my fingers on something.” I knew it was impossible, but my fingers hurt.

With a tender touch, the man teased my hand out of my death grip and tickled my fingers until I reluctantly unclenched my fist. As he examined them, he lightly brushed the pads of his fingers over my calluses and tutted to himself. “It does not appear to be a burn, but you are, indeed, injured.”

Great.

Something dark flashed in the man’s eyes when he looked back up at me. He didn’t let go of my hand, but his grip remained gentle. Firm enough to keep me from pulling away, but he wasn’t being forceful. Yet.

I stared at my hand in his as the ridges of the man’s necklace appeared on my fingers as if I were branded by it. And as the design completed, the world tilted.

Everything spun. The bright streetlights and setting sun dimmed, and the world went black. I fell, or could feel myself falling, but before I hit the ground, strong arms caught me and the last thing I felt before darkness completely overtook me was being cradled against the beautiful man’s soft-as-clouds sweater and his breath tickling my ear as his voice echoed around me, “All will be well, young one. Come back to me.”

And I wished I could.

“Come back to me,” his voice echoed.

About the Author:

I’m a mother, furbaby spoiler, and a girl who can’t get enough of pretty, pretty boys. As a kid, I traveled the world, too young to appreciate the gift I was given, but now those adventures spur on stories that my brain just can’t keep up with. Well, my brain tells me it keeps up just fine, but my fingers are the slow ones. I’ll let you decide. But the boys, man. The boys I remember make my heart sizzle looking back on them. Being a kid at nude beaches, I never cared, but looking back on those memories of Sicily, WHEW! There are some really great childhood images that I wish I could have been an adult to savor.Home is some place I call “rustic”. I’m used to large cities, stores everywhere, gas stations on every corner. Here in rural Pennsylvania, it’s rustic and beautiful. And quiet. Too quiet. With all this quiet, all there is to do is write stories, and let the hot men in my head out to play. We all benefit, yes? I like this development. The only thing I dislike about this rusticness is the fact I can’t find a coffee shop that sells a proper chai latte. They make it from powder. Ew. This makes for a disgruntled Dev. Ugh. I miss my chai.

Most of all, I am a down-to-earth southern girl at heart from spending 16 years in Florida. If you chat with me, you’ll hear endearments like darlin’, sweetheart, and hon/hun/hunnie. It’s who I am, and if we chat, you’re almost instantly family, so get used to it.

Synopsis

Remembering the dead will always give them life.

The coveted MorrĂgan’s staff is up for sale on the black market to the highest bidder, and SOA Special Agent Patrick Collins will do whatever it takes to ensure the Dominion Sect doesn’t get their hands on it. Returning the weapon to its rightful owner is another step on the long road toward clearing Patrick’s soul debt, but he won’t walk it alone. Jonothon de Vere won’t let him.

Obeying the gods means Patrick must travel to London. For Jono, it means facing a past he thought he’d left behind forever. His return to England isn’t welcome, and neither is their pack, but Jono and Patrick will face the antagonism together. Politics aside, their priority must be the mission, but the bone-chilling secret they uncover in the London god pack will have far-reaching repercussions no one can ignore.

A race against time takes Patrick and Jono from the streets of London to the bright lights of Paris, where hospitality is thin on the ground, the air is filled with whispered prayers for the missing, and the MorrĂgan’s staff will end up in the one place it should never have gone—a graveyard.

For beneath Paris lie the long-forgotten dead, and when they rise to walk again, the living can only hope to die.

On the Wings of War is a 109k word m/m urban fantasy with a gay romantic subplot and a HFN ending. It is a direct sequel to A Vigil in the Mourning. Reading the first book in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

Exclusive Reveal Excerpt

“I hate ties,” Patrick said, tugging at the one wrapped around his neck. “I hate suits. Why couldn’t I have done all of these meetings remotely?”

“Because you’ve done enough property damage earlier this year that it’s best to remind people you aren’t the enemy,” SOA Director Setsuna Abuku replied without looking at him as they continued down a corridor in the Pentagon. The military aide escorting them was doing a fine job of pretending not to hear a word they said.

“Chicago was not my fault.”

Setsuna finally deigned to look at him, arching one eyebrow. “The people of Chicago beg to differ.”

“It was months ago. They should be over it by now.”

Setsuna twisted her wrist so her cane smacked him in the shin, never breaking stride. “You know a city doesn’t easily recover from an attack like that.”

About A Vigil in the Mourning:

The devil you know is never the one you should trust.

Special Agent Patrick Collins is dispatched to Chicago, chasing a lead on the MorrĂgan’s staff for the joint task force. Needing a cover for his presence in the Windy City, Patrick is ordered to investigate a politician running for mayor. In the lead up to election day, not everything is what it seems in a city where playing to win means appeasing the gods first and the electorate second.

But Chicago brings its own set of problems outside the case: a stand-offish local god pack, a missing immortal, and Patrick’s twin sister. Fighting Hannah and the Dominion Sect provides Patrick with a sinister reminder that some blood ties can never be cut.

Left behind in New York City, Jonothon de Vere finds himself targeted by hunters who will go through anyone to kill him—including the packs under his protection. With a bounty on his head, Jono is forced to make a choice that Patrick would never approve of. Doing so risks breaking the trust he’s built with the man he loves, but not acting will give the rival New York City god pack leverage Jono can’t afford to give up.

When Patrick and Jono reunite in Chicago, Patrick must confront the fraying of a relationship he’s come to rely on for his own sanity. But fixing their personal problems will have to wait—because Niflheim is clawing at the shores of Lake Michigan and the dead are hungry.

A Vigil in the Mourning is a 102k word m/m urban fantasy with a gay romantic subplot and a HFN ending. It is a direct sequel to A Crown of Iron & Silver. Reading the first book in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

He tipped his head back, staring up into Jono’s eyes. Jono lifted his hand and wrapped it loosely around Patrick’s throat. Patrick swallowed, feeling Jono’s fingers move with the motion. His c*ck twitched with interest, and despite needing to pack for his flight, Patrick had no intention of moving unless Jono wanted him to.
“Be careful in Chicago,” Jono said, his voice coming out low.
“Would you believe me if I said I was always careful?”
Jono pressed his thumb against the edge of Patrick’s jaw, tilting his head back farther. “You’re a bloody liar.”
“Good poker face though.”
“I’d like your face”—Jono’s other hand slipped between his legs—“and your c*ck, and all the rest of you, to come back in one piece.”
Patrick licked his lips, canting his hips into Jono’s touch. “Asking for a miracle.”
“Pat.”
“I’ll do my best. Now shut up and kiss me.”

Patrick turned to face the Wisterias and opened his mouth to speak. “I can call—”

The nursery window shattered as if a bomb had gone off, the home’s threshold buckling beneath the blow, but it didn’t break. Glass exploded through the room, the lights above going out, and Patrick reacted without thinking. He ripped his shields out of his body, expanding them to engulf the people around him. Arianna screamed and hunched over the baby whose real name Patrick still didn’t know.

The explosion allowed cold winter wind and rain to enter the home—but that wasn’t the only thing that came inside.

The roar of the wind twisted into screams as a deep cold filled the nursery. Patrick conjured up a mageglobe in his left hand while yanking free his gods-given dagger with the other. His breath puffed in the air from the cold, skin stinging from the supernatural chill.

Gliding into the nursery through the jagged hole in the building came the spirits of the restless dead.

BLURB

Holden Bancroft was born with a better than average brain and not much else. Often described as strange and sickly, his attempts to conform only made him look foolish and a life-long diet of pills hasn’t provided a cure. Deciding to strengthen the only tool in his arsenal was liberating and learning became his greatest joy. But each episode is another reminder that his time is limited, and Holden intends to use everything he’s learned to help the small town of Hope before he dies.

Alpha Crowley Lomond, Zenith of the Americas, isn’t exactly happy with his ascension. Leading isn’t the problem, it’s acting like he’s somehow better than every other shifter that chafes. But while living and working beside them may seem noble, Crowley is more than just an alpha. As Zenith, he’s their example, their teacher and guide, and the one they will turn to when their way of life is threatened.

Meeting changes them in ways they never could have predicted and unveils a web of deceit that began long before they were born. Together, they will have to unravel the lies and reconcile the consequences if they are to protect the shifter way of life. Along the way, Crowley will become the Zenith his Kindred was born to love and their enemies will learn that there's nothing more dangerous than fated mates.

EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT
He was probably going to lose his job, but Abigail was proud, and Holden was too. Kind of. He’d feel better if and when he actually accomplished something. “Holden?”

The soft tone warned that she was done pretending and ready to nudge him out of hiding. Grateful and terrified, he gripped the wheel until it creaked and managed to squeak out an unconvincing, “Yeah?”

“You didn’t call to tell me about your job, did you?”

“No.” He called because he found himself humming. Music on low, breeze wafting through the open driver’s window, he was feeling really good. Mellow, which was so not his speed. But mellow fit. Kind of chill and relaxed, not sleepy, just really content. Was happy a stretch? It was insane. None of that was him. He was the freak out kind. Not the humming, happy, chill kind.

“I met a guy.” The words were rushed, and he was flinching seconds before her happy sigh echoed through the speakers. They didn’t talk about their sex lives, so he knew she would read more into this than there was. It wasn’t like he met his future husband or anything. He’d had a one-night stand—an ah-mazing one-night stand—with zero plans for a repeat and no way to contact Crow even if he wanted to.

Did he want to? Holden was a big believer in not pushing his luck and in this case, maybe it was better to hold onto the fantasy rather than risk realizing he’d blown the whole thing out of proportion. When Crow reached for him, he was at an all-time low. The only way it could have been worse is if he had passed out and gotten trampled by the dinner rush.

By that logic, any little improvement would feel huge. Although, that didn’t explain their morning after. When they woke, he was well rested, his body didn’t ache, and his brain was firing on all cylinders.

At least until Crow blew them all away.

“Don’t you even think about stopping there,” she warned when he didn’t say anything else.

“No, I won’t. It’s…he’s…Abs, fuck, he was amazing.” Holden laughed helplessly and blurted it all out. The traffic, the endless detours, letting his body run out, and Crow.

Crow in the restaurant.

Kissing Crow in the hallway outside his door.

Crow making everything better.

“We were together twelve hours. At least eight of them sleeping. What is that in the grand scheme of things? Nothing. Right? But…Abs, I think he changed something inside me.” Struggling to explain it, all Holden could think of to say was, “I was humming.”

AUTHOR BIO
Like many readers, I've dreamed of being a writer most of my life. Thanks to social media, I was able to follow my favorite authors and hoped to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. It isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely been worth it and with four series in the works and a full schedule of releases planned for the next two years, it's been amazing to have made this dream my reality.

I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics, and happily ever after. I'm a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families—biological or chosen. All are themes you'll find throughout my books.

Coming Soon: SAVOR ME by Beth Bolden (Kitchen Gods #3)-Includes Exclusive Excerpt!

COMING SOON!

SAVOR ME
Kitchen Gods #3
by Beth Bolden

Release date:  October 2, 2018

Blurb

When Chef Xander Bridges leaves the warmth and safety of his car on a cold, stormy night and approaches a stranger, the last thing he expects to find is a future. He’s wanted to leave his job for awhile, but with no good opportunities on the horizon, he’s been stuck in a long, painful rut. But when he befriends the stranger viciously tearing up his own vineyard, Xander discovers something inexplicable. Maybe he’s not the bitter, sarcastic man that everyone, including himself, has endured for years.

Maybe, with someone like Damon in his life, he could be something more. Something better.

Damon Hess doesn’t just want more, he demands it. With his alcoholic past, there are no gray areas for him. Only black and white. In love or not. Sober or drunk. But the chance meeting with Xander opens Damon’s eyes, and gives him a vision full of something he hasn’t experienced in years: hope.

Hope that he can expect companionship and affection, hope that he doesn’t have to grapple with his family’s questionable Napa legacy any longer, and most importantly, hope that there’s a future worth believing in. But the longer he and Xander spend cultivating that future, the more Damon realizes that the key is so much simpler than he ever imagined--it’s Xander.

Savor Me is an 80,000 word contemporary m/m romance starring an irascible man with a soft, gooey marshmallow center and another who knows he likes men, but has never been with one before. It is third in the Kitchen Gods series, but can be read as a standalone.

Exclusive Excerpt!

“If you don’t mind, I’m going to go read through the contract,” Xander said.

“Sure. I’ll just clean up.” Xander looked like he was about to protest, but Damon held up a hand. “I’m no good in the kitchen, but I can use a sink and a dishwasher.”

“If you insist, I’m not going to stop you,” Xander conceded with a smile. He’d relaxed again, and Damon found himself hoping that Xander let whatever issue he had with his family go for good this time.

He gathered up the rest of the dishes, and when he let himself in the sliding back door, Xander was at the counter, absorbed in the printed pages of the contract.

“Dry reading?” Damon asked as he flipped on the sink, filling it with hot soapy water.

It was obvious that Xander was a professional cook, because even though he had used a number of pans and utensils to prepare the meal, they were all neatly piled next to the sink, and the counter and stove had all been carefully wiped down.

“It could be more interesting,” Xander admitted. “Do you mind if I take this with me?”

“Sure, but if you’d like I can email you an electronic copy to take to a lawyer,” Damon said steadily. It was the right thing to do, but his heart had wanted Xander to sign tonight. Before he could figure out that Damon wasn’t as good of a bet as he appeared.

“That would be nice, but I’m not taking it to a lawyer. I just want a copy for myself.”

Xander had gotten a real nice sear on the salmon filets, and the pan needed to be soaked. Filling it with hot water, Damon set it aside. “I don’t want you to look back on this conversation and wish you’d done things differently,” he said.

“It’s a straightforward contract, and anyway, I trust you.”

Damon glanced over, and was surprised to see in Xander’s expression that he really meant it. “I know we just met,” Xander rambled, “I know we also met under . . .extraordinary circumstances. But I choose to believe that we can make something extraordinary with those circumstances.”

It was inevitable that it would happen one day. Damon had known since he was twelve that he was attracted to both sexes. But he’d met his ex-wife so young, there had never been an opportunity to explore that attraction with men.

Until now.

He kept his trembling hands submerged in the sink, holding like a lifeline onto the pot he was scrubbing. He didn’t want Xander to see how affected he was—and he definitely wasn’t ready to approach Xander yet. If he was ever going to feel ready.

Also just because Xander was gay didn’t mean he was interested in Damon. After all, Xander knew he was a recovering alcoholic, and Damon had always imagined that not many people would ever chose to take that sort of burden on in a romantic partner.

Still, the possibility existing at all, even in a nebulous future, made Damon swallow hard.

“That’s a lot of trust to give,” Damon said, voice raw. He didn’t have to add, to someone who you personally witnessed falling apart only a year ago.

Xander shot him a quicksilver grin, and went back to reading the contract.

He finished washing and drying the dishes, putting them away, but Damon felt shaken to the core by Xander’s words, and his own reaction to them.

Whether Xander acknowledged it or not, he was taking a chance, and there was definitely a part of Damon that didn’t feel worthy of it, especially when he heard Xander scrawling his signature on the contract, the pen scratching across the paper.

“There,” Xander said with finality. “All it needs is your signature.”

He could have slid it over the counter. Damon’s hands were still a little damp, but he could have leaned over the prep counter and signed.

Instead, Xander left it next to him. Right next to him. Like he was inviting Damon into his personal bubble.

Damon hesitated, almost definitely for a second too long, because Xander chuckled, low and a little rough, and it did all sorts of things to Damon’s stomach.

The truth was, Xander had a supernatural effect on Damon’s stomach. He fed it incredible food while giving it the sort of nervous, hungry butterflies Damon hadn’t felt since he was a teenager.

“Come on, I don’t bite,” Xander said, flashing another one of those bright smiles. “Hard.”
