“I hate ties,” Patrick said, tugging at the one wrapped around his neck. “I hate suits. Why couldn’t I have done all of these meetings remotely?”

“Because you’ve done enough property damage earlier this year that it’s best to remind people you aren’t the enemy,” SOA Director Setsuna Abuku replied without looking at him as they continued down a corridor in the Pentagon. The military aide escorting them was doing a fine job of pretending not to hear a word they said.

“Chicago was not my fault.”

Setsuna finally deigned to look at him, arching one eyebrow. “The people of Chicago beg to differ.”

“It was months ago. They should be over it by now.”

Setsuna twisted her wrist so her cane smacked him in the shin, never breaking stride. “You know a city doesn’t easily recover from an attack like that.”

He tipped his head back, staring up into Jono’s eyes. Jono lifted his hand and wrapped it loosely around Patrick’s throat. Patrick swallowed, feeling Jono’s fingers move with the motion. His c*ck twitched with interest, and despite needing to pack for his flight, Patrick had no intention of moving unless Jono wanted him to. 

“Be careful in Chicago,” Jono said, his voice coming out low.

“Would you believe me if I said I was always careful?”

Jono pressed his thumb against the edge of Patrick’s jaw, tilting his head back farther. “You’re a bloody liar.”

“Good poker face though.”

“I’d like your face”—Jono’s other hand slipped between his legs—“and your c*ck, and all the rest of you, to come back in one piece.”

Patrick licked his lips, canting his hips into Jono’s touch. “Asking for a miracle.”

“Pat.”

“I’ll do my best. Now shut up and kiss me.”

Excerpt

“Come on. Let’s go to bed.”

Patrick led him back into their bedroom, ignoring Jono’s huff of laughter when Patrick pushed him onto the bed. He shrugged out of his own jacket and stripped out of his sweater, tossing it aside. His dog tags were warm from body heat, even if he couldn’t feel where they rested on his scarred chest.

Jono watched Patrick undress the rest of the way, methodically getting rid of his weapons and clothes. He crawled onto the bed, pushing at Jono’s shoulders until he was lying down, with Patrick straddling his hips. Long fingers curled around his dog tags, tugging at the chain to pull him into a kiss that went from lazy to deep in the span of seconds.

Warm hands gripped Patrick’s hips, thumbs pressing against bone. Patrick bit down gently on Jono’s bottom lip before pulling away, dragging his mouth over the stubble along Jono’s jaw, to his throat.

“They drew first blood, and I don’t like that it was yours,” Patrick murmured against the skin stretched taut over Jono’s pulse.

He could feel it when Jono swallowed, and he tried his hardest to suck a bruise against Jono’s throat.

“Better mine than yours.”

“F*ck that.”

Guest Post: THE MEN OF HIDDEN CREEK NEW SEASON by E. Davies

I wanted to share some special news with you. You might have heard of the Men of Hidden Creek before. This series has already seen three seasons, first launching in April 2018. Each season of MOHC happens at roughly the same time, so you see crossovers with other books happening in the background. That's why you can read each season in any order you like. For each season, we picked a suggested order that we think flows well. Everyone usually comes up with their own favorite order after reading them! :) 

You don't need to read previous seasons, since we always reestablish the world and characters in later seasons. But if you want to start from the beginning, you'll spot the most crossovers. So there’s still time to catch up before… well… the big news coming in a moment!

And now for the news… we were planning to finish our time in Hidden Creek at the end of season three, but we just couldn’t stay away. We knew there were too many unfinished stories to be told… so we’re back for season four, launching in August-September 2019.

Unlike previous seasons, these books will be launching every week over six weeks. And they will all be available in ebook, audio, and print on release day, so you can keep up with the world as it unfolds!

“How do I trust you won’t kill me in my sleep?” Hawes sniped, more out of sexual frustration than any real fear. He felt more like himself than he had all night. Steady again.

“Same way I’m going to have to trust you not to kill me. You are the Prince of Killers, aren’t you?”

Hawes bit his tongue, fighting the words that wanted to form. Twice in one night. Hawes’s hate for the title crested once more. Hate that he was the prince when it was actually the three of them—him, Holt, and Helena—running the organization. Hate that he’d been forced into the role because he was the oldest, technically, and hate that when someone had to make the tough decisions, it was always him.
