Regent's Park Pack Series
Blurb
When the last thing you want, is everything you need...
Seb Calloway isn't interested in shifters. After his best friend bonded with one, he avoids getting involved with them-no matter how hot they are-to prevent the same thing from happening to him. Why take the risk for a few hours of fun?
Tim Walters is the pack doctor. Considered to be mild-mannered and non-threatening by pack standards, he prides himself on being able to stay calm and maintain his control at all times. Desperate for a bond of his own, he knows his interest in Seb is an exercise in futility, but he can't seem to help himself.
When news emerges that threatens Seb's safety, he and Tim need to fake a relationship to keep Seb safe. Despite Seb's refusal to be anything other than friends with benefits, what starts out as pretend, quickly becomes more-for Tim at least. If Tim doesn't want to end up heartbroken, he needs to prove to Seb that loving a shifter doesn't mean losing himself.
Carra's Review
Yes. Just, yes. Everything about this book ticked my boxes for M/M paranormal romance, and just like with Bitten By Mistake, Bitten By Design was all about the characters for me. I couldn’t get enough of Tim and Sebastian, and I loved seeing Jared and Nathan as well as the other pack members again in this story.
Sebastian is so dead set against any kind of relationship with a shifter when the story begins, so you know that’s the battle he’s going to be fighting with himself…especially when all the feelings start. Seb is determined to keep his individuality and sense of self, which he believes will be usurped by bonding with a shifter. Tim is in a word, amazing. He is strongly attracted to Seb, yet still respects Seb’s wishes even though it tests his restraint at every turn. But the longer time they spend together, the more deeply their feelings run until they both give in.
And oh my goodness…once they do give in, the intimacy and passion don’t just jump off the charts—the charts are redefined. Tim’s protective streak for Seb rises exponentially, and honestly I thought Tim showed incredible strength of character with the control he showed—even when he felt like his control was just about lost.
The tensions between their pack and the P-pack continue to intensify, and the strain builds the drama of the story on every page. Between the intense scenes regarding the packs and rogue shifters and the emotional, raw heat between Seb and Tim, I couldn’t put this book down. There’s still more to come after the epilogue raised new concerns, and another possible matchup of characters (oh, I really hope I’m right about that one!), so I’m now mostly patiently waiting for more.
4.5 stars for Bitten By Design, it’s really a great addition to the series and I liked it even more than the first book—all because of the incredibly emotional match between Seb and Tim. If you’re a paranormal/shifter romance fan, you’re going to love this story and series. I would strongly recommend reading Bitten By Mistake first to have a solid background of the pack and Jared and Nathan’s relationship. You could probably get by without it, but honestly your enjoyment of the story will be much increased if these are read in order. This book is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and explicit (and extremely hot!) M/M sexual content.
