Blurb
Close friends and partners at FireWorks Security, Joel Weston and Kieran Ross know each other's strengths and weaknesses. They have each other's backs, make a formidable team, and carefully ignore their volatile chemistry.
When Kieran struggles with the aftermath of an assignment gone wrong, Joel is there to help. When Joel is caught in an explosion, Kieran jumps into a burning marina to rescue the man who means so much to him. But they never discuss what's closest to their hearts, not prepared to risk their friendship for the mere possibility of something more.
Faced with bombs, assassins, and old ghosts, Joel and Kieran must find out why they're targets, who is coming after them, and-most of all-how each would feel if he lost the other. Should they continue as best friends, or is it time to take a leap of faith?
Carra's Review
Did someone order pure action and suspense? Because that order was filled here with Leap of Faith...and it apparently doesn't end here, either. From start to finish, this book kept me hanging on the edge not knowing what was going to happen next. It's an exciting start to this series, and it did put me on the hook for whatever is coming next.
Joel and Kieran are rock solid partners, they know each other inside out and it's almost as if they are one mind in two bodies. They are both fiercely protective of each other, but neither has given in to their mutual attraction as they don't want to ruin what they already have as friends and partners.
But as these relationships tend to do, everything comes to a head-and finally explodes. The chemistry the two have as partners is mirrored as lovers, and honestly I think things between them growing into more than just friends was inevitable given the intense strain the two share in their work, and how close they already were as friends.
The action is nonstop, the suspense constant, and as for who the bad guy is? You'll probably be as uncertain as I was as I read...and unfortunately, you're not going to get all your answers in this book. Personally? I don't mind--this was an exciting story and I'm looking forward to following this series. I love it when a story keeps me on the edge of my seat like this, and I'll be snapping up the next one as soon as it's available.
4 stars for Leap of Faith, and I'd recommend this one for M/M action/suspense romance fans. While the intimate scenes are not explicit, they, along with the adult language, are still meant for readers 18+.
