There's just something about M/M romance that gives you a wholly more satisfying emotional experience while reading than what you get when reading a traditional M/F story.  When Kindle Alexander is the author, that emotional experience multiplies exponentially-every...single...time.  Secret is no exception, and I found this story to be another amazing addition to Kindle's already superior repertoire.

You've got a supposedly straight business owner, Dylan, who is clearly devoted to his family-though keeping a secret from his children (as well as everyone else except his wife), all of whom are almost all grown up.  He's sensitive, loyal, not to mention gorgeous and athletic...but from a different perspective is lonely, if not a bit frustrated while he hides his true nature/sexuality.  Then we have Tristan, another business owner who wants his company to buy Dylan's, and is determined to get it to help make his own company better.  Tristan does not hide who he is and deduces Dylan's secret, then helps Dylan discover so much about that hidden part of himself, while gradually falling for him--something he never expects would happen to him.

The chemistry between the two is truly explosive, and every scene with them together bursts with emotion to the point that you hope each scene won't ever end.  I love the way that Tristan draws Dylan out of his closet, even if it's only with him...for now.  They get more and more comfortable with each other as emotions climb higher and higher, drawing you so deep into their story that you'll find yourself losing time as you read.

Secrets never seem to stay that way though, so you've got plenty of tension and drama to look forward to in this story.  Along with plenty of hot and steamy scenes that will have you frantically grabbing for some ice and blasting your fans and a/c.  Or maybe something battery operated.

Let me not forget to mention the great cast of supporting characters who give Secret even more depth and provide emotional support for not only the main characters, but also the secondary ones.  Dylan's wife, Teri, is his best friend and they know each other better than anyone...and support each other wholeheartedly.  Both make sure their children have an idyllic life, raising them the way every parent should aspire to raise their own children. (Since I'm writing this review to appear on Father's Day, Happy Father's Day to you Dylan, and congratulations on raising such amazing kids!)

Fans of M/M contemporary romance will not want to miss this wonderful story, a 5-superstar read for me and one of my top recommendations in the M/M genre.  Strictly for 18+ due to language, adult situations and those hot as hell sexual scenes.  This is definitely one of those stories I'll be re-reading many times in the future!

MeetTheAuthor
Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.
