My Review
Let me start off by saying you should definitely read the prequel, Kiss of Awakening, before starting Seduce. It will give you a lot of good background for the main character, Kenna, and make Seduce an even more enjoyable read.
The central character of Seduce, Kenna, has accepted and grown into her life as a succubus and comes across as a strong female lead-which is always a plus for me in the books I read. I got a real kick out of Dex, and hope that somewhere along the line we get to see a story centered around him (maybe a spinoff? Hmm...). And of course Randal. I wish we had gotten to see more of him in this story as he sure is one hot vampire that I would like to see a lot more of. Multiple paranormal creatures always make for an interesting set of characters, and the ones here in Seduce do fill out the lineup quite nicely.
The story itself centers on Kenna and her attempt at finding a supernatural to date since-being a succubus-she really can't date human men (no matter how much she wants to). The writing flows well and with all the supernatural elements going on, my attention was fully held throughout the book, even if a lot of it felt like it was groundwork being laid for the rest of the series. I like her attitude and personality compared to what we find out an average succubus is like-and so does Randal ;-)
With the twist and cliffhanger that is dropped at the end, the author has guaranteed I'll be picking up the next book in the series to see what happens next. I would give this somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars as a rating. The story is actually pretty tame-if you're looking for steamy scenes that's not what you're going to find in this book...but that doesn't make the story any less interesting, especially if you are a paranormal genre fan.
