Coach’s Little Kitten by Quin & Perin
This was my first introduction to kitten play, and it was at the same time both cute and sexy. What it also was? Naughty and HOT. Those who like size disparity will be soundly pleased, and the opposites contrast extends beyond just size. This story also brings up the thought of what could possibly happen once Caleb is no longer in school…just sayin’.

Abstract Love by Sara Dobie Bauer
This one is not so much erotica as it is the beginning of a love story, and I enjoyed it tremendously. It’s written with a lot of emotion and feeling, and I adored how Sam fits with Donovan. Saminasuit…LOVED.

The Kiss by A.G. Carothers
A deeper delving into kink can be found here with Liam—who identifies as asexual, and who is into pain—and Gavin, a dominant at the BDSM club to which they both belong. Even for a shorter work as this, it’s still plenty of time to lay out Liam’s unexpected (to him) journey into play with a man, and into finding a lot more than what he bargained for…in a VERY good way.

Pretty Boy by E.M. Denning
Pretty Boy dips into the taboo pool with Mark and Paul, half brothers. All about raw, primal need and the visceral need to be owned, this story will not be for everyone but if you’re wanting to check out that pool yourself this is a good place to start—and not just for the half brother aspect.

Nate’s a doctor, and definitely has his caretaker thing going on with Alex. And Nate does do whatever he needs to do to take care of him…including bringing an interesting fantasy of Alex’s to life. Some readers will definitely be getting introduced to a new kink with this story!

Brotherly Love by Lynn Van Dorn
Stepbrothers. Lace and satin undergarments. A bit of makeup. ’Nuff said, right? Another dip into that taboo pool here (though seriously folks, step-siblings aren’t related by blood, y’all know that, right?), where we get to see glimpses of Jay and Jamie growing up, slowly leading to it all coming to a head. A very hot and naughty head.

A Kink Chronicles Short by Luna David
Jeeeeezus. Please excuse me while I go take an ice bath. Pure eroticism, sensual as hell, and it might leave you short of breath…in a very, VERY good way. Told from both Knox and Zach’s points of view, we get a quick exploration of their D/s relationship which has the interesting kink of Zach’s need for humiliation. I confess, that’s one kink I can’t understand personally—but the author takes that and turns it into something crazy hot and intensely erotic. As a matter of fact, “erotic” describes every single page of this story. And that’s before the second couple—another D/s couple with whom Knox and Zach are close friends—enters the picture. Damn, I need a cold drink.

Tamed by T.M. Chris
If you’re a fan of a sub who just does not listen, and you like stories that center on discipline, this will be a story for you. I’m not really into this type of D/s relationship, so this story made me a bit impatient.

Watch and Learn by K.C. Wells
To wrap everything up? Just about everything under the sun. Okay, not everything but an all-out impressive attempt at it. The key here for Zac and Chris? WATCH. Voyeurism is definitely Zac’s thing. What Chris has him watch? That’s where the wide array of acts comes into play. Exhibitionism, fisting, shibari, watersports, flogging, menage, DP…there’s a whole spectrum of things to be found here—all with the purpose of Zac watching. Deliciously naughty, probably a bit eye-opening for some readers, and all in the name of Chris showing Zac that penetrative sex is not the be-all, end-all.

In conclusion
One thing the stories in this anthology have in common is that they all have the potential for a lot more, which has me hoping that the authors might decide to use these as springboards into full-fledged novels at some point. Those that were written as an extra look into an existing world have me looking those stories up to add to my reading list. This is an amazing collection, supporting an incredible cause, and gets all 5 stars from me—definitely a highly recommended read for the M/M erotic romance/erotica fans out there! And the “well, duh” disclaimer…this anthology is strictly for readers 18+ for adult language and erotic sexual content, including some topics that some readers may consider taboo (go ahead, you know that’s one of the reasons you want to read it!).

This fluffy gay Christmas romance from Keira Andrews features former stepbrothers reconnecting as adults, sexy hot-tub shenanigans, cuddling by the fire, and of course a happy ending.

Carra's Review

Even though this story is novella length, it really feels like you’re getting a good-sized novel-length story.  And even with the glut of holiday romances that are out there, In Case of Emergency still comes across as a unique story, keeping holiday romance fresh while still giving readers characters they will wind up caring about.  That’s what happened for me, and I just loved Daniel and Cole’s story.

I really identified with Daniel’s character, from his work habits/ethic to his small idiosyncrasies (such as not liking texting shorthand)…though not with his need to please his partner to his own detriment.  I thought Cole was adorable, and I could definitely identify with his clumsiness.  He was so sweet, and knew just what to do or say to help Daniel be at ease—even when Daniel’s attempt at a boyfriend in Justin went wildly astray.  

The story can kind of be split into two halves—the first with others at the chalet with Daniel and Cole, the second with just the two of them alone.  Sexual tension abounds between them, at first primarily on Cole’s part and later for both of them.  When they finally give in?  Whew!  Hot and steamy with chemistry galore!

In Case of Emergency is a distinctive story in the holiday romance genre, and Daniel and Cole get 4.5 stars from me—I just loved the two of them together.  I highly recommend this book to any M/M romance fan, and I know for me this one is getting added to my yearly holiday re-read rotation.  This story is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

Kat had just stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around her body when she heard the doorknob rattle. 

“Just a minute!” It was probably her dad trying to check on her.

The brass knob rattled again.

“Almost done,” she said as she tucked the towel more firmly about her body, mentally smacking herself for forgetting to pack her long robe. 

When she unlocked the door, it flew open instantly. A shirtless Tristan stood there, holding a towel, looking down at her with those hypnotic blue-green eyes. 

Her eyes, without approval from her brain, swept down over his body: the sculpted abs, the indentations of his pelvic muscles, and the way his jeans hung low on his hips. Hips she’d held and dug her nails into the other night as he’d pounded into her. Her lower body twisted and clenched with sudden desire at the mere memory of his raw, powerful possession of her. She couldn’t forget the feel of his body, pressing her down, his c*ck filling her until she couldn’t breathe. The way he’d owned every part of her.

Damn. How had she convinced herself that avoiding him was a good idea? Right now she wanted to drop the towel and beg him to take her, damn the consequences.

Like a thirsty woman crawling across a Saharan desert and glimpsing an island oasis only to discover it was a mirage. 

He made a low, gruff noise, not exactly a response, but it sent shivers through her. She couldn’t forget the sounds he’d made in bed two nights ago. He’d been half-animal, growling, nipping, showing her a rough side to passion, one she knew she would always crave. Tristan had pierced a dark part of her sexual side, exposing it to the light, and she couldn’t deny that it existed, nor did she want to.

He slid past her, their bodies brushed in the narrow space of the doorway. Heat exploded through her, and she froze, trying to control her reaction to him. 

Tristan froze, too, their bodies pressed close. His warm breath fanned her cheeks and his natural masculine scent enveloped her. Memories of their night together came flooding back, no matter how she tried to keep it out.

He lifted his hand to her cheek, pausing a second before he would have touched her. She met his gaze, her breaths shallow as his lips twitched in a ghost of a smile. Then he brushed his knuckles over her skin. Fire rippled in the wake of that “barely there” caress. Every part of her was aware of him and his closeness.

“Please…” she begged, unsure of what she really wanted.

“Please, what?” he replied, in that dark, low tone that made her purr inside like a cat in heat. He slowly backed her into the wall next to the shower, closing the door behind him. He placed his hands on either side of her head, caging her in, and lowered his face to hers. 

A feather-light, teasing kiss. A nip at her bottom lip. She clenched her thighs together, feeling the rush of wet heat in response to his subtle aggression. How could he affect her like this? His touch, his kiss, sent her body into riotous waves of longing for him. 

He nuzzled her neck, licking and nibbling on the sensitive spots that sent electric pulses from her head to her toes.

“Listen, princess.” I lift her chin toward mine, meeting this gorgeous big blue eyes.  “I’m not sure if you noticed, but we’re stranded together in the middle of f*cking nowhere, with only each other to count on.  You can fight me all you want, but there’s one thing you need to understand.  I’m going to protect you.  I’m going to take care of you.  And in case you haven’t noticed, I’m six-foot-four, and probably have a hundred pounds on you.  My body is going to produce a lot more heat than yours.  Now calm the f*ck down, and let me get you warm.  Got it, sweetheart?”  Her fighting stops immediately. 

She nods, coyly, blinking those baby blues at me, all of her fight disappearing.  “Got it.” Her voice is small, and I suddenly feel like a d*ck. 

“Good. Glad we’re on the same page.” I tug her body closer so we’re pressed tightly together, and I hold her to my chest, wrapping her in my arms. A contented little sigh escapes her lips. The top of her head doesn’t even reach my chin. She packs a lot of sass for such a small thing.  I inhale, and breathe in the scent of her shampoo. The smell of vanilla and lavender fill my nose.  Damn, who knew that combination could be so perfect?  It’s intoxicating and I can feel my body slowly start to react to the smell and the images my mind starts to produce.  The way her slight curves mold to my body serves to warm me up pretty damn quick. 

Those of you who devour stepbrother romances will most likely do the same with Stranded with My Stepbrother.  It's got a classic setup (if a bit contrived) to get Sierra and Bentley alone together, stretching their circumstances to allow for what fans of the genre are waiting for...the hookup.

Bentley is your typical alpha playboy/manwhore type, but also exudes a protective vibe towards Sierra, and I thought he perfectly fit the stepbrother romance mold.  I found Sierra to be a bit on the immature side, and felt more like she was in it for the physical aspect and nothing more.  Together, Bentley came across as the more realistic and committed of the pair and I preferred his character much more than Sierra's.

The story goes by pretty quickly, and I'd really prefer to have found out more about where their relationship was headed than to have had the story end where it did, but overall this was a fast read that entertained me for a while and satisfied the itch to read something in the stepbrother romance genre. This does fall squarely into the 18+ category for adult language and sexual scenes, and fans of the genre should enjoy this quick look at Bentley and Sierra, though you may be left wanting more at the end.  3 stars for Stranded with My Stepbrother!
