Blurb

Victor Kalinski, all-star forward for the Boston Barracudas, is one of the biggest jerks in professional hockey. Before long his aggressive attitude gets him shipped off to play in the minor leagues.Furious, he takes to the ice with equal amounts of skill and scathing sarcasm, which doesn’t win him any friends—except for good-natured alternate captain Daniel Arou. He won’t take any of Vic’s crap, and he won’t take no for an answer. But Vic’s trouble-making is pulling his career one way while Dan’s talent is pushing his in the other. However much they scorch the sheets, they might soon be separated by more than Vic’s fear of being hurt.

Carra's Review

Victor Kalinski can definitely be a tough pill to swallow.  His attitude can range from aggression to apathy, with plenty of sarcasm along the way and a devil-may-care approach to life.  But the people around him have their limits, and unfortunately for him that extends to those making the decisions for his team.

Dan Arou is the perfect foil for Victor.  Dan is the guy that everyone likes, that everyone gets along with, and who is laid-back and can get right to the heart of the matter.  The physical things between them are explosive, and yet Victor still can’t seem to rein in that wicked mouth of his to keep it from getting him in hot water—even with Dan.

Their relationship is frantic and wild like passion unbridled as they both fight for control and dominance—something Dan shows Victor he is wholly capable of even with Dan’s smaller physical stature.

Victor can be a bit much at times, something Sean Crisden skillfully captures with his narration.  He brings Victor’s “whatever” attitude to life perfectly, along with Dan’s softer but still strong personality.  This is definitely one of those instances where the narration of a story has raised my rating of the book.  As an ebook, I’d be giving a rating of 3.5 (thanks to Victor’s excessively snarky personality, he was a little draining to read).  As an audiobook, the narrator’s competence at portraying both men has me giving Two Man Advantage 4 stars instead.  Keep in mind the adult language and sexual content make this story one for readers and listeners 18+.
