Regent's Park Pack Series
Blurb
Alec Knight, a beta in the Regent's Park pack, guards his heart carefully. Ghosts from his past keep him alone and angry, any hope of a relationship impossible while guilt from the pack wars still haunts him. With the anniversary drawing near, Alec needs a distraction.
As a lowly member of the Primrose Hill pack, Mark Appleton isn't used to having his alpha's attention. Lately he's had more than his fair share, and not for the right reasons. Despite growing suspicions that all is not well, Mark tries hard to do better, but constant criticism leaves him desperate for a stress outlet.
Sex is a good way for shifters to let off steam, and while their packs attack each other with accusations and lies, Alec and Mark work out their frustrations in bed. Pillow talk and shared secrets lead to a closeness neither was expecting, but when pack relations reach an all-time low, any future for them seems out of the question.
If they want to be together, they'll have to go against their alphas' wishes-except Alec won't and Mark can't.
Carra's Review
I’m just going to say right up front, this is my favorite book of the series so far (PLEASE tell me there’s going to be a lot more!). I loved the first two books, but the angst and the sort-of shades of Romeo and Juliet in this one, coupled with the tension thrown in thanks to Mark’s alpha, really pushed Bitten By Desire into my oh-my-I-just-love-this-so-much territory. Edge of my seat? YES.
Every one of the books in this series is character driven, and Annabelle Jacobs does an amazing job again with Alec and Mark. Though they might deny it at first, they’re compelled by emotion and keep getting drawn back to each other no matter how bad an idea they know it is for them to keep being together. The passion between them is intense and the more they’re together, the higher the intensity gets.
The friction between their packs adds a ton of tension to the story, and the actions and words of Mark’s pack alpha just make you want to challenge him yourself. I was constantly on edge worrying about what Mark’s alpha and one of the betas in his pack (Wes) would try to do next to compromise or hurt him. The two of them were characters I immediately disliked, the polar opposites of the supportive, protective members of Alec’s pack.
The story moves at perfect pace, and it definitely had my full attention from beginning to end. Bitten By Desire was a 5-star read for me, and I would highly recommend it to any paranormal/shifter romance fan. I would strongly suggest reading the books of this series in order, as events in the earlier stories are built upon here, and you’ll enjoy this one a lost more having that background (don’t worry, you’ll love those too!). This book is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and explicit, crazy hot sexual content.
Author Bio
Annabelle Jacobs lives in the South West of England with three rowdy children, and two cats. An avid reader of fantasy herself for many years, Annabelle now spends her days writing her own stories. They're usually either fantasy or paranormal fiction, because she loves building worlds filled with magical creatures, and creating stories full of action and adventure. Her characters may have a tough time of it-fighting enemies and adversity-but they always find love in the end.
