Blurb
But when Dave discovers Shawn's little kink, it opens up a whole new chapter for the two friends. Except Shawn can't help but worry - if there was no kink, would Dave be there? And is Shawn brave enough to find out?
A standalone short story of lust, lace - and love...
Carra's Review
Okay, so now here's one more thing to add to my list of turn-ons, and I'm not ashamed to admit it *fans self*. I mean, when I first saw the blurb and teasers for Lace my interest was thoroughly piqued. You know how sometimes you read teasers or excerpts before a book comes out and you go, "oh, yeah...now THAT I definitely need to check out!", then you count the days until it's released? That's what happened for me with Lace. I then crossed my fingers in hope that it would live up to the hype. Don't worry-I was not at all disappointed.
It could have been so easy for the kink and sensuality to take over and not leave any story depth behind, but the author did a great job of balancing it all out. Oh yes, there's naughtiness. Thoroughly arousing, erotic stimulation...check. But interspersed with the heat and titillation, everyday relationship issues could be found, with Shawn eventually wondering if the kink is why Dave is interested, a point that could drive a wedge between them not just as lovers, but maybe as friends too.
This book is not just a guilty pleasure/"explore a new kink" story. Even though it is a short, quick read it really does pack a punch, and it's not just erotic entertainment--it's a quality story with meaning and gives readers characters who experience growth and discovery.
Lace gets a solid 4 stars from me, and I already know this is a book I'll go back to re-read in the future when I want a quick, edgy story with a healthy dose of fan-yourself-and-make-sure-the-batteries-are-charged! This story is meant strictly for readers 18+ for adult language and explicit M/M sexual content with an added kink.
