Carra's Quick Reviews

Three Christmases

I didn't think this series could get any better. I was so very wrong.

After making it through both of their pasts, Cade and Hannah are stronger together than ever...but the success of both of their professional lives may just be what makes everything unravel.

Anyone who has done the long-distance thing will tell you it's hard. Unbelievably hard. And there's only just so much that calling, texting and emailing can do-an unhappy fact that Cade and Hannah get to find out firsthand in Three Christmases. But if you want to see how two people who are meant to be together handle it, this is the perfect example.

The tension ramps back up with all of the time they have to spend apart, and the always exceptional writing, insanely strong and loving characters, and continuing humor-as well as that tension-are going to keep you glued to the pages...again. Meaning, clear your schedule because you will NOT want to put this book down.

The relationships are complicated, the drama intense, the fun banter ever-present...and it all adds up to a fantastic ending and an amazing series that you'll want to re-read again...and again...and probably again.

Another well-deserved 5-stars for the unputdownable Three Christmases!

The Espionage Effect

If you're looking for excitement, action, romance and thrills all wrapped up in one tremendous package, The Espionage Effect is exactly what you're looking for.  A solid 4-star read for me, and definitely recommended for romantic suspense fans!

Bound by Wish and Mistletoe

I'm always up for a good highlander romance, and Bound by Wish and Mistletoe fit that bill perfectly.  A bit of excitement, a feisty young woman trying to claim her independence, and of course our highlander-the commander in his clan-that will absolutely make you swoon with the respect and reverence he shows for our heroine.

Susanna's character is brave and spirited, escaping from a life that was about to become even more restricted than she'd already experienced.  Robert is strong, a highly skilled warrior and protector.  The pull between them is immediate, more so for Robert since Susanna is still trying to get free of her confining existence and is not willing to trust any man whatsoever.

Things between them become intense, with scenes showing great tenderness alongside great passion.  This along with the action and a bit of magic make this a captivating tale that you won't want to put down.  4.5 stars from me-it would have been 5 except Susanna's poor decision making near the end just rankled me a bit.  I'd highly recommend this to highlander romance fans 18+ (for explicit sexual content).

Overall for the box set

This is a fantastic set, well worth the price for three wonderful stories.  The writing is excellent, the storytelling smooth and engrossing, and these are books you'll want to re-read in the future-I know I do!
