"Nailed" by Tara Wyatt

Carra's Review

Uprooted

A sweet second chance romance that is also about forgiveness and moving on.  After the pain Natalie went through following the death of her best friend after a party night gone wrong, she left behind her hometown and Chris without a word of explanation.

Ten years later, we get to see them rediscover each other-and nothing has cooled down with them at all.  The way they so easily pick up virtually right where they left off shows just how comfortable and matched they really are.

We get to see Natalie work through the pain from a decade ago which she never really let go of, and finally forgive herself.  I loved Chris, he was there for Natalie, supporting her and loving her no matter what.

4 stars for Uprooted, Chris really stood out for me in this one.

Revved

Another second chance romance, again with the idea of forgiveness.  I have to say, I really liked Sage-he's a hard working, strong and sexy man.  Rachel though, what she said to him when she left the first time around...I was not happy about that at all.  I am not a fan of people (whether they are characters in a book or a person in real life) who let others dictate their choices and who can't stand up for themselves and what they want...which is exactly what Rachel was like.  She may have changed things around later-hence the shot at a second chance-but for me what happened the first time just ticked me off.

It's purely because of Sage that I give this 3.5 stars.  Him?  He's worth a lot more ;-)

Nailed

It's a common theme with the Hennessy cousins...someone runs the first time around, then we get to enjoy their second chance.  This time it was Adam who ran and Charlie who needs to forgive him.  And with the sparks that fly between them, it's a good thing Charlie can move past Adam's faux pas.

I loved Charlie's tough, independent personality.  She was easy to identify with and like, and aside from her housecleaning habits (the non-existent habits that is), she's a good, strong character with a lot going for her.  She guards her heart closely thanks to her ex-fiancé but thankfully learns to push past what he did to her.  Good thing, too--because I loved Adam's character and really wanted to see him get his HEA...even after his jerk move the first time around.

I'm a little in-between on the rating for Nailed, so 3.75 stars it is.

Overall

All three stories will satisfy your second chance romance wants, and all three are meant for readers 18+ due to adult language and sexual content.  My overall rating for the anthology is 4 stars, and Uprooted is definitely my favorite story of the bunch.  In all three the Hennessy guys shine, these men are my favorite part of each story.
