Cover Re-Reveal: Sky of Dreams by Jenna Jacob

Returning from Iraq with a daughter and an unforgivable secret, Sky tries to bury the past, until Katie—the woman who once annihilated his heart, reappears. She stirs up emotions he longs to forget and rekindles desires that might burn him alive.
Can new love grow from the ashes of their past, or will a trail of death and betrayal destroy their dreams?

The sound of churning gravel and the purr of a car engine drew Sky’s attention to the road. A silver Jag slowed to a stop in front of Gran’s. His heart clutched in his chest, air stilled in his lungs.
Katie.
He didn’t need to see the shimmer of her glossy auburn hair reflecting in the setting sun to recognize her. The blistering pull of every cell in his body and the rush of conflicting emotions rolling through him were proof enough. Anger, desire, sadness, and rejection brought with them a sting that burned the backs of his eyes. Forcing down the lump of emotion clogging his throat, Sky tried to tamp down the familiar vibration humming through his body. A part of him wanted to whoop for joy before yanking Katie into his arms kissing her senseless. Another part of him wanted to forget she even existed…wipe away the ball-churning memories that flooded his brain, and focus on the hurt and anger he felt when Gran broke the news, Katie had left. Yet, all he could think about was touching her, kissing her, holding her in his arms, before he dragged her beneath him.
Skimming a cursory glance over the ridiculously expensive sports car, Sky’s shoulders sagged. Katie had achieved her dreams all right, it was staring him in the face, sending feelings of inadequacy deep into his bones. He hadn’t had a damn thing to offer her at eighteen; he sure as hell didn’t now. Sky couldn’t compete with the riches she’d apparently become accustomed to. It didn’t take a genius to see he could only rate as a long lost lover. Reality stung, like a slap to the face.
Katie had ripped his heart out and stomped it to shit—a fact he’d do well to remember. But it didn’t erase the desire to love her again, or the growing need inside his jeans. Disgusted by his traitorous libido, her return only served to make him pick at the scabs of the past, and douse them in salt water. Sky clenched his jaw.
“Looks like you got everything you wanted, Katie,” he mumbled with disdain. “I’m sure you’re happy now.”
No sooner had the words rolled off his tongue than the sounds of gut-wrenching sobs filled his ears.
What the hell?
Tossing down the shovel, Sky mopped the sweat off his face before storming toward the Jag. Katie’s sobs grew louder and more pitiful. Like fine crystal, the flimsy barrier he’d erected around his heart, began to crack, splinter, and finally shatter. Standing next to the open window, Sky watched tears drip from beneath her shroud of silky, red hair. The waning sun reflected in each drop, casting them in a shimmer of gold, as they spilled onto Katie’s lap.
His guts and heart clenched in tandem. Sky had only seen Katie cry once: the first time they made love; those had been tears of joy. There wasn’t an ounce of happiness in the guttural sobs ringing in his ears. What the hell had happened to her? This wasn’t the strong, resilient woman he’d once loved. Seeing Katie in the throes of such brutal sorrow gutted him.
In an instant, his heart caught fire with the need to protect: burning away the poisonous animosity he’d felt moments ago. Instantly, flames of love reignited—the powerful kind they’d once shared—and Sky only wanted to scoop her into his arms so he could comfort and slay the demons causing her this pain.

I'm Jackson Delancey. I work hard, play hard and when it comes to women, I'm always hard.
PLAYBOY. BACHELOR. HEARTBREAKER.
I do whatever I want, when I want to. Chasing women doesn’t interest me. Not with the responsibility of running the famed Delancey Stables falling squarely on my shoulders. Until I meet her. Or rather, she slams into me hollering about some tree that’s on the border between our property lines.
Angelina Randall.
She’s feisty, argumentative and the best looking woman I’ve ever laid eyes on. I’d like to lay other parts on her too- just enough to get her out of my system. I tell her so, but she takes offense. No woman has ever turned down a Delancey and I’m not the kind of man who backs down from a challenge. Especially since I can’t get her out of my mind.
The longer it takes to win her over, the more I want to keep her for myself. I’m the man for her, if only she could stop picking fights with me long enough to see it. I’ll make her mine, if I have to drag her to hell and back again.
The way things are going, that might be a possibility.

The damn woman had turned me down. After I'd kissed her silly. And she'd kissed me back!
She was the most oppositional woman I'd ever met.
She was a pain in ass. A real ball buster. A stuck up prude!
She was also the first woman to get more than half hearted interested in me since- well- ever.
I'd dated my share of girls over the years. Plenty of them. Loads. But the past decade had been almost exclusively meaningless flings. They took care of a temporary need, but nothing more.
No entanglements. No relationship. No repeats.
That's what I was after with my new, pain in the ass, gorgeous as hell next door neighbor. One night of pure unadulterated, break the headboard sex. Then we would go our separate ways. It was just what I needed.
Right?
I glanced at her. She was staring straight ahead, ignoring me. She looked annoyed with me. Not that that was anything new.
But it didn't matter. She'd kissed me back. The second time anyway. I touched my cheek where she'd slapped it and grinned. I turned into her long driveway and stole a glance at her again.
This time I let my eyes wander over her t*ts and down to her long, lean legs.
Hmmfff... the girl was put together right!
"Jackson!"
I looked up, stopping just in time. I'd almost hit Elle's car where it was parked in the driveway. Whoops.
It wasn't my fault Angelina's legs were so damn distracting.
She was glaring at me again as she undid her seatbelt.
"You are a terrible driver!"
I leaned towards her. Enough was enough with this woman. I wasn't having her sass for another damn minute!
"No. I'm not."
"Yes. You are."
"I'm a fine driver. I was just distracted."
"By what? We are in the middle of nowhere!"
"By you."
Her pretty little mouth opened in that way she had and I grabbed her. My tongue plunged into her sweet, warm mouth again and again. I wasted no time putting my hands where I wanted them. On her hips.
She had damn good hips. Soft and just right for a man's hands. They'd be perfect leverage when I-
"Ouch!"
I stared at her in shock. One minute she was kissing me back and the next she was-
"Ouch!"
She'd slapped me. Twice. Three times in the last fifteen minutes.
That had to be some sort of a record.
"You have quite a temper Miss Angelina."
"It's Ms. Randall!"
I smirked as she got out of the car, slamming the door behind her. I watched her ass as it shimmied a bit with each step. She was stomping her cute little feet, angry as all get out.
She slammed the front door behind her too. I got out and stretched, then meandered over to the door. I wondered how long it would take her to remember that it was her car, and that I still had her keys.
I leaned against the door jam, whistling as I looked up at the stars.
A minute later the door slammed open. I hadn't know it was possible to angrily open a door, but she did it. The woman had style, that was for sure.
I smirked at her as she huffed at me. But she didn't realize that I was the big bad wolf in this scenario. Not her.
She was the little piggie.
"Forget something?"
She glared at me, holding out her hand.
"Keys."
Slowly I lifted them up and dropped them into her palm.
"Now go!"
"Sure thing. Just send Elle out. She's my ride and it's getting chilly out here. Unless you'd rather keep me warm..."
She started to say something and then stopped. I could practically see the steam coming out of her ears. I stifled a laugh as she shut the door in my face again. I spoke real loud just to be sure she could hear me.
"See you tomorrow sunshine."

In the year 1956, Anastacia Fotopoulos finds herself pregnant and betrayed, fleeing from a bad marriage. With the love and support of her dear friends Stavros and Soula Papadakis, Ana is able to face the challenges of single motherhood. Left with emotional wounds, she resists her growing affection for Alexandros Giannakos, an old acquaintance. But his persistence and unconditional love for Ana and her child is eventually rewarded and his love is returned. In a misguided, but well-intentioned effort to protect the ones they love, both Ana and Alex keep secrets - ones that could threaten the delicate balance of their family.
EVANTHIA’S GIFT is a multigenerational love story spanning fifty years and crossing two continents, chronicling the lives that unify two families.

Anastacia sat at her desk, absentmindedly eating a salad while daydreaming as she stared out the office window. Down below, people walked briskly through the city. Where were they running? An actress late for an audition? An investment banker meeting a wealthy client? Lovers meeting for lunch? The possibilities were endless in this eclectic and energetic city, yet hers were limited. She wrapped her hands around a mug of steaming tea and looked around the room. The gray walls matched the gray chairs, which matched the gray desks.
Dull, dull, and dull. There were no paintings on the walls or plants to brighten up the room. It was practical and functional. The exciting New York life she hoped for was outside these walls, but someone else was living it.
Anastacia remembered how as a young girl, she had poured over Photoplay magazines as if they were the Bible, imagining that one day her life would be equally as exciting. When her mamá ordered her to nap during the afternoon break from school, she would sneak the magazines under her pillow and read about the fabulous lives of Vivien Leigh, Ava Gardner and Hedy Lamarr, and swoon over the pictures of Robert Taylor and Cary Grant. Pretending her footboard was a barre, Anastacia would teach herself ballet. She begged her
father to take dance lessons.
“Good girls don’t do such things,” he told her firmly. That was that. There was no negotiating. Apparently, there were a lot of things “good girls” didn’t do. They didn’t ride bicycles, shave their legs, wear lipstick or talk to boys.

Her debut novel, EVANTHIA’S GIFT, is a women’s fiction multigenerational love story and family saga, influenced by her Greek heritage, and the many real life accounts that have been passed down. She continues to pick her father’s brain for stories of his family’s life in Lesvos, Greece, and their journey to America. Her recent interview with him was published in a nationally circulated magazine.
As an avid cook and baker, a skill she learned from watching her Athenian mother, she incorporated traditional Greek family recipes throughout the book.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts from Hofstra University.
