Colton Dawson is miserable this holiday season. Those he’d loved the most are no longer in his life. With one disappointment after another, how can he possibly get into the Christmas spirit? Maybe a change of scenery—a new place to put down roots—is just what he needs for a second chance to find some happiness.

Winterbourne Vale is only too happy to help his much-loved aunt and uncle run their café in Canada while on his short December break—even if it means leaving his home in the United Kingdom. After a defeated-looking Colton walks into the café, Winter is determined to lift his spirits.

Can Colton and Winter’s Christmas happiness continue long after the gifts are unwrapped and the decorations are stowed away?

Walking in a Winter Wonderland is holiday treat filled with special ornaments and glistening snow, hot tea and cold-weather kisses, along with some sexy shenanigans and plenty of holiday cheer.

Carra's Review

This is going to be one of those on-the-fence ones for me, so I’m going to break it down with a pros/cons review.  I’m always up for a holiday romance as long as it doesn’t get too cheesy or over-Hallmark movie-ish, so the blurb for this story immediately drew me to it; it just hovered on that line for me through every page.

Pros:
-The main characters—I did like both Colton and Winter, and they did fit together well even if it seemed at times like it was mostly on a physical level.
-The setting—This story had a small-town feel to it which is something I am always a fan of, especially for holiday stories.

Cons:
-Character depth and actions—Most of the information on Colton and Winter is superficial, so I didn’t really feel like I got to know them all that well.  The way they spoke and acted didn’t feel consistent with how old they seemed to be, and sometimes things they said came across as too formal or just out of place for their characters.
-Story flow—This book did not flow very smoothly for me, it felt kind of uneven and jumpy at times which meant my mind did tend to wander as I read, leading me to take a lot of breaks from my reading.

This story was an okay way to pass the time, it just felt like something was missing for me.  Colton and Winter very quickly fell for each other without me as a reader getting to see the development of their relationship since the writing was very much more of a tell, not show approach.  And I’m still trying to figure out what’s the big deal about Tetley tea.

This book was a pretty quick read, and it’s meant for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.
